    D. O'Keefe

The depth thread got me thinking.

What chance does DOK have with staying on the list next year? His career with the Swans thus far has been decimated by injury, and based on the reserves reports, he hardly seems to have imposed himself in Canberra.

Unless the anticipated spate of retirments occur DOK might be on the edge, which is a shame considering he was our first pick in the so called super draft.

Could reserves watchers please provide some input?

He'll stay. The raps on him were big in the under age comp. He just can't string any games together.

I have only seen him play in the pre-season game at York Park this year and he was not as impressive as Craig Bird or even Matt O'Dwyer on that particular day. Didn't make the earth move for me.

Hard, because he's been injured. Hopefully, he has been taking the time off to do some work in the gym and build some muscle, as he seemed a bit skinny to me.

It would be VERY harsh to delist him after two injury-riddled years. He hasn't had a chance to prove himself. Given we are looking to rebuild with youth, delisting him just seems stupid. If he hasn't done anything next year, then maybe it will be time to go, but I'm hoping he gets another shot.

Of course, I haven't seen him play in the reserves at all, so I'm flying a bit blind here....

Oh, and by the way, has anybody noticed that DOK kinda looks like Frankie Muniz?

Another waste of a first round draft pick in my opinion.

What are the others? We haven't had one since JMV and before that Fosdike, Bolton and Fitzy (always injured)

142 games before falling to injury is hardly a failure.

Hard call after two years ruined by injury.

Survived for far too long on 'potential' as far as I'm concerned. Failure is probably a bit hard though.

So over 12 seasons, the only decent players from first round picks are:

                        Bolton
                        Fosdike
                        Crouch
                        McVeigh

                        With Ves unproven.

Trade away the pick I say

I'm all for keeping DOK BUT would a first round pick from the so-called super-draft have any trade value?

We gave Brabazon and Thornton 3rd years on the list and they were 4th round picks IIRC.

....just proves that the draft is indeed a lucky dip.

Round 1 pick can give very little....and pick 57 can be All Australian
