I'm no Fan of Roos & Co with their draft selection criteria, but I dont think the selection would hang a players family/cultural background - I would like to think that they would be considering the players on current ability and future potential. Perhaps thats simplistic, but I'm just a simple gal!

I was told by someone one day last year they didnt like Geelong because they were Racists (amoungst other things!) because they didnt have any indigenous players. I quickly pointed out that they were incorrect, had they ever heard of Varcoe & Stokes? they are very handy players for the Cats.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I think we've been a bit spoiled with MickyO and Goodesy.
Talent like that is hard to find, and even harder to keep (ala Cookie)!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I think you are right there Annie, we have have been spoiled with MOL & Goodes - they are a rare pair, and I doubt we could be that lucky again in the short term.

We'll never be that lucky again ... short and long term.

thats not all - the same person was absolutely convinced that the entire Geelong side were all on the "juice" in 07 and even more so the day they won the granny by 119 points. They couldnt accept that this team played as a team, had a game plan that actually worked and that they really were a cut above any other team that year.. the coach was a racist - the list goes on - oh well it takes all sorts I guess.
