    What's With the Beards

That's what I want to know! A frivilous fread.

Lewie looks great with his blond viking look. McVeigh has a "look" that he maintains well. And I like Luke's effort.

But when the kid Taylor Gilchrist makes his entrance with a black beard of respectable density it all gets a bit much! Is there a competition? Is it new Macho Mo? Anyone got any answers?

dont know about any beards as I did not see the game yesterday, only beard I know of was Ablet's at the start of the year, which I'm sure he got rid of. I just thought I would post something here cause it looks ordinary when you start a new thread, have lots of views and 0 replies.

I almost purchased the Ablett pin at the game yesterday purely for the "Catweazle" look. He should have kept it.

Amon is growing one as well - as long as none of them try and emulate that "Q-stick" Lynch bloke from West coast - he's a very unattractive man!

Perhaps the superstition about shaving is coming in? Don't shave when you're winning, don't shave during the season, something like that?

I saw Kristin Thornton on the way back to the car and he also was sprouting a few weeks growth.

I think there must be a testosterone competition amongst the boys at present. Movember is a bit of a way off! It doesn't look like a lazy day series of growths. Some of it looks like a serious effort.

I fancy Monty's effort and Luke's is terrifically toned down and somewhat classy.

There was a thing in the media recently saying that the chics go for the more rugged looking bloke than the SNAG now. They want the tradies and they love their utes. They like the tatts and the facial hair.I must admit that when I saw NOG's moustache he looked a bit too Hitlerish for my liking. It doesn't matter what I think,it's either for the ladies or a dare.

A canadian friend of mine told me its a long standing tradition in ice hockey not to shave during stanley cup playoffs, hence the winning team always having the shaggiest of appearances when they win.

This is not a good trend and should be nipped in the bud. i recall two players with facial fungus - Robert Walls and David Ackerley. Nuff said.
