    Grundy loses the car

The Birdman has apparently taken the mark of the year against the Blues at Docklands.

Did Grundy just lose his MOTY?

People raving about Burton's mark on BF, I haven't seen it but it's already got more praise than Grundy's. Must've been a ripper if true, damn it!

I haven't seen it, but it's amazing the praise it gets on BF when Grundy's was basically brushed aside. I had a bad feeling he'd lose it in round 22

Gee, a little overrated. Just saw it on YouTube, at least Grundy got all the way over.

Call me biased, but I'm sticking with Reg.

YouTube - Brett 'Birdman' Burton Mark Of The Year Contender - 2009 - AFL

            Hi biased,

if you watch closely, you can see the Birdman take a little half-skip before launching into the pack so he times it correctly. Grundy, God bless him, had little idea about how high he was going to get. No contest from me.

Who cares if he knew how high he'd get, Grundy's looks better and he didn't have as many players to sit on. Still sticking with Reg, but I know most wont.

The way Riccuito was crapping on about I was expecting a lot more.
Grundy' was better for mine. He didn't need such a big platform.
Burton will probably win because more people saw it a the game and made a lot of noise.

I find it hard to pick. Burton's looks more spectacular because of the way he crashes through the pack, but I think Reg actually got up higher.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Maybe, maybe not - but Liam Jurrah has just kicked the most freakish goal you will ever see against the Saints. Watch out for it on the news.

I can't see how that mark is better than Reg. Reg jumped over a ruckman, right over him, the birdman jumped into a pack of midgets. lol

Mitch Clark must be in with a chance.

And Kirky's effort was so good , I thought it had been taken by Magic !

I haven't seen a replay of the game, and am only going off a quick glance of the replay at the ground- but did Kirky have a subtle hand in the back of the defender before he took that mark?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
