On Saturday one of the usuals who sits with us at the SCG, Margaret, had a bit of a "turn" in the heat out the front of the ground prior to the members gates opening. OldRoyBoy was there and saw it all happen. Now Margs no spring chicken and isnt in the best of health generally, but by geez she always busts a gut to get to the home games no matter how crook she is feeling. Anyway - after she came too, the club and the SCG people couldn't do enough for her - they took her into the ground, got paramedics in, made sure she was ok & stabilised and well enough to stay and watch the game if she wished. Well Marg wished and so they brought her upstairs to her seat. Now every half hour or so a medical officer came over to check on her - even took her blood pressure a couple of times, went and got her drinks, took her to the ladies, and generally made a fuss of her (which she loved and greatly appreciated) and then they arranged for her to get home. Now I'm sure that this kind of assistance would happen at any ground (or at least it should), but efforts like this are rarely acknowledged, so I, on behalf of Margeret would like to say 'thank you " and praise all concerned for their thoughtfulness, respect and terrific attention to Margs wellbeing. In the end she had a great day. so again a big THANK YOU !!!
Thank you to the club for looking after one of their fans.

Speaking from personal experience, in particular the past couple of years, I can't tell you how many times I have been so very proud of this club and it's professionalism, kindness and consideration. So very many times I have said that I could not imagine the effort the administration and players make being duplicated by any other club.
My Dad was sick last year, I am quite sick this year and the Swans have been exemplary in their efforts of support throughout everything. I won't go into too much detail but Larissa is a marvelous girl and Craig Bolton in particular is a beautiful human being also.
I am so proud to call the Swans "my team" and as a lifer of the team, I doubt that anything will ever change my appreciation for everything they have done for me and my family.Comment

Two Swans stories on the radio (SEN) this week, (I'm home sick so listening to the radio
Kid from Yarraville (Melbourne's West), called SEN to ask Dermott Brereton some questions about the Swans, being a board member at Hawthorn Dermott asked why he was a Swans member, kid replied he was lost at a market in Sydney and Brett Kirk found him, made sure he found his parents. Dermott's comment is that's why we are a successful club, full of quality people
Rebecca Wilson said Roosy was one of the first people to call her brother Jim, when his young son died of cancer, very sad
Always good things to hearYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

Good one Wardy...
Have you sent this note to the club?..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Let's not forget the SCG staff played a big part in this as well.
Plenty are quick to jump on them at every opportunity, we've already had the worn out 'SCG Nazi' line trotted out this week, but as Wardy acknowledges, their initial response was also praiseworthy.
As for ORB rushing over to assist, he just saw an opportunity to move up 8 places in the line outside the gate ... (and I told him so) ... lolDriver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I actually saw Magaret at Gate A after she collapsed, and must commend the SCG staff on their professional and compassionate handling of the incident.
I have forwarded your feedback to our Operations Department who liase with the Trust. Its great to have something good to pass onto them.
Cheer cheer

Wonderful stories to hear. Who says only bad news sells? Thanks Wardy and all the others who posted. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Well done Wardy. Now i nearly know for sure who you are.... I am glad Margaret is ok; didn't look too flash at first but I noted as the game progressed she was looking better. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment
