    AFL gets guernsey in China

    Looks like AFL has won a gig to show live games.

    Chinese aren't usually interested in any sport that doesn't involve Yao Ming or gambling, but they do have the world's most boring TV.

    The Age understands the breakthrough in negotiations was helped by the visit to Australia in June of Chinese vice-president Xi Jinping.... [He] was entertained at the Carlton-Fremantle game as a guest of Premier John Brumby and AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick - a man with whom he was familiar due to Fitzpatrick's role as a director of mining giant Rio Tinto.
    I wonder if Mr Xi and Mike F exchanged Stern words.
