    Horse just called me ....

OK ... it was a recorded phone call, but he did say right at the end that he hopes the next time we talk the conversation won't be so one-sided!!

He's spruking the crowd for Saturday's game.

I love it. A great idea.
    Thanks swans.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

He called me too! I've got a lot of advice for him so the next conversation may be just as one sided.

      Just called me as well!
Not so sure I love it as an idea, but if it gets more people to turn up for an important game, than so be it!

I don't think you'd be the only one... I'd talk for much longer than a minute or so if I got a chance to chat with him.

Reminds me of The Simpsons ep where Homer gets hold of an auto dialer

I saw the title and wondered what he had called you?

If you were slow to hang up it told you the number to press to be deleted from the list.

I hung up as soon as I worked out I was being ball busted by a machine. So about 4 seconds.

I found it a mildly confusing. He started blabbing "John Longmire here" - took me a few seconds to figure out it was the coach. Didn't help I was sitting in a meeting.

At least it wasn't outsourced to an Indian call centre.... "we would like you to be coming to a most excellent footballing match... also can I sell you a wonderful OPTUS call plan"

I've had sympathy for today's Horse and other machines since reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

Besides, he was so genuinely keen on luring me (and Annie) to the game it was hard to dismiss him. And it might have been Horse himself playing a trick on me again - like constantly almost selecting TDL.
