Horse said in his press conference that it was likely Gary would play. That's a pretty early call from the Coach so soon after a loss so if Gary comes through the week injury free I would expect to see him named in the team.

Very high I would have thought. Was everywhere yesterday and used his pace to advantage. Nipper is the other one that put his hand up for another senior game. Mal will probably return even though his kicking remains a concern. The smokey is Lamb. An aggressive and skilled player is something the seniors need at the moment. He might need 1 more week in the Ressies before being considered though...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Gordon- BEST TILL LAST. Dropped a sitter mark in the first few minutes and I thought bugger me, please don't disappoint. BUT, other than one free kick against him after rag dolling the opposition defender as he was trying to escape the Tigers Def 50 - his game was near as perfect as it could be! I struggled with last week as the young NIP was named as an emerg and when McVeigh was omitted they replaced him with TDL. I thought at the time a like for like was the correct move, and NIP could have been a fwd/goal option as well as run with player, streaming up and down the flanks (his engine and legs are supreme). But no cigar. To have left him OFF the emerg list this week didn't make sense then, and I thought to my self what sort of message would this be sending and how would the young fella react today?? Well he told the selection committee exactly what for !!!! I was the player that should have been promoted last week and this is why!!!!
He was not benched once all game and in the dying stages of the match after running a half marathon already, he sprinted with every last once of petrol in his tank to a raking 60m punt outa def to the wing, and full length dive nearly took the mark of the century. Right infront of the grandstand. It was controlled for a milly second and popped out when his frame landed on the turf. He hobbled off thru the interchange with cramp, but went straight back on in 10 secs to run the last 5 mins out. Crouchy said at the last change, I want you guys to finish off the last qtr to AFL first grade standards, NO stopping, NO lack of intensity! NIP WAS that statement!
If he can keep his 'aggression' centred on attacking the ball, def pressure, and hard running, and cut out the occasional free or 50m against - his ALL round game and flexible positioning means he has got a very tasty all round package. And should be rewarded with a 1s gig next week !!! Thats in my humble opinion.
I'd love to see Lamb get his debut this year, but maybe not room this week if we have Gaz and Nip in, and not against Geelong at home - seems like being set up for a hiding...Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

We have a bit of a recent history of throwing guys in the deep end for their debuts at Skilled Stadium. Smith and Rohan both share that honour, as does (did? given he is no longer on the list) Laidlaw.Comment

Secondly - I admit I pyked out at 3/4 time I was freezing my bits off - however the team were always going to walk all over the Quenbeyan Tigers but it was a game played in really good spirit. Rohan played a ripper game and after hearing the news tonight my dream came true he's back in seniors.
However, we have found the draft pick for 2022 - a kid named Zac - his dad is the talent scout for the Albury Wodonga area - well he may as well just sign up his 6 year old son - this kid kept himself occupied for 3/4's that I was there - he can kick, he can hand pass, he is a little ripper, he could take marks (when people kicked the ball back too him). I was speaking to his dad and he just lives and breaths footy and the Swans. He was in full Swans team gear - even had the bike skins on under his shorts. And he just has a footy in his hands all the time - it was jsut so wonderful too see - he looks like a little Dan Hannerbury!!!
excellent report done by Al up in the Grandstand I recommend the trip down - a great spot to watch the footy - even if its a bit nippy.Last edited by Wardy; 15 August 2011, 06:48 PM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

And there are 11 years for the rules to change - so your AFL draft rules encyclopedia may be right for now - but in 2022 - god only knows!I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

oh and Dairy Farmers oval is a terrific joint - I do like the Legends bar and balcony on the corner next to the grandstand. Their walk of fame, and plethora of premeriship flag holding flag poles looks great. They do take pride in the club and grounds - the sausage sangers were nice (but not quite to Bunnings at Kirrawee standards!) - and for the ladies, the facilities were ok, nothing flash and what one would expect from a country footy ground, but I have seen far worse so they get the tick from me.
The parking at the southern end of the ground is nice, and one can sit in the warmth of the car and toot the horn when a goal is scored. Next year I may do a touring series of the country footy grounds of the ACT and rate them from a womans perspective.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
