    Where's the hype ?

If any other team team had beaten Geelong @ Geelong and continued winning there'd big banners about being on a roll .Maybe it's better this way .A lot of times when games have been hyped up the Swannies have been found short . Go - the quiet achievers !!

I suspect the footy journos simply play it safe when making predictions. All season we have been making the numbers up and they say adnausium that teams don't win outside the top 4. They still don't rate our list past Goodes and O'Keefe. They have jumped on Reid but only to the point that they say he will be a star. They commented about his contested marking but haven't said he is pivotal to our finals chances.

Truly extraordinary. And almost as remarkable is that, in all the concern about our tall forwards (Sam, Jesse, Adam when he goes there) there is no mention of Spangus Maximus. They could be in for a shock next Friday.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I like lack of hype around the Swans. It keeps the odds high.

And someone should tell the Hawks' fans that they still got over the Suns with 8 outs - that ought to console them

I've seen the Hawks Buddyless and they were just as good. Ultimately if they continue their impressive use of the ball and delivery inside 50 they will find someone else that will kick the goals. Their kicking and spread is enough to trouble us at the 'G Buddy or not. Very tough game coming up - Swans by 50.

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Geez mate you are struggling. Jeff Kennett supports the Hawks.

Swans supporter on the bigfooty forum: "We may lose but in saying that you shouldn't underestimate us as we have pulled off some rather good wins in recent weeks." Hawks supporter: "You will lose."
I personally love being underrated and playing arrogant sides. Swans have always been underdogs, and they have always surprised. Going into a game with no pressure is surely a positive thing.

The less hype the better. No mention of how we've gotten this far without our (intended/hopeful) key forward playing at all this season I suspect?

Reading through the hawks forum, they all say the hawks will bounce back as it's a final. They seem to be overlooking the fact that we will take it as more than just a final (I believe anyway) as it's Goodes' 300th. I dare say the team will put in even more for him.
