I don't think I've ever heard him say that he didn't actually see Leo take "The Mark"!
I remember being almost too scared to look myself, but delighted that I did.
    It's engraved in my mind.
    A wonderful moment.

I saw the mark but it wasn't until you see the photo and the holding jumpers that you wonder how close it could have come to being awarded as a free kick against the Swans.

Would have been a very brave umpire.

Nah the umps generally put the whistle away in the last half of a GF and it showed again in today's game. Unless it was something extraordinary they never would of paid a free in the leo pack mark.

It's just a shame normal games aren't umpired the same way. How good is to watch when the umps let the players decide the contest.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I don't believe that the GF should be umpired at a different level than the home and away season. The umpires should adjudicate at a consistent level throughout the year, regardless of the occasion.

I know this probably won't happen, but a girl's gotta dream!

Erica, I think it's more a case of most people wish the rest of the other games were umpired like the GF is umpired. The over officiation of H&A games is a blight on our game.

Absolutely true, goswannie14. No umpiring consistency throughout the year.
