      From wikipedia

Michael announced his retirement on 5 October 2006 at only 29 years of age.[6]

After his retirement it was speculated that he wanted return to Melbourne to base himself there while playing football semi-professionally for a local club.

      Comeback

However, on 24 November 2006, Michael shocked the football community by reconsidering his retirement. To the anger of the Brisbane Lions, he announced that he had been signed by the Essendon Football Club and had reached an agreement whereby he will be selected by them in the pre-season draft for the 2007 season.[7] The decision infuriated the Lions, who believed that Michael had exploited a loophole in the draft to change clubs and they questioned the sincerity of his retirement.

Yeah I got no issues with it to be honest, I just find it very strange (if it happens)

GWS are looking like a mix between a TAC Side and the Brisbane Bears circa 1987 retirement longue recruitment policy at the moment. Weird old mix of players.

i think they are looking for hard bodies for a period of 12 months while they get their 2nd round of uncontracted players...i.e. Pendlebury, Goddard, Mundy etc...end of next year is when GWS will strike....

Isn't everybody sick of Barry yet?

Would rather another discussion about Fevola.

They got Palmer, so they won't be getting Mundy via that concession...

Someone will probably shoot me, and they'll probably be justified. But I'm in the yes club.

                      Um.
If Baz is coming back to Sydney, he's going to find a MASSIVE difference between living in Maroubra and living at Breakfast Point.
Shouldn't have sold your house Baz. Once you get your foot out of the Sydney real estate door ....
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Won't cost him much more than in Maroubra. Although I think he'll probably rent one of the terrific apartments in BP.

When most Footscray people hear '2 years', it's followed by 'with a non-parole period of 6 months'....

Maroubra > Breakfast Point (but not by much, hence not so many ">>>"). At least you get a seabreeze in Maroubra.

There's nothing quite like the smell of low tide on the parra river!!
