Round 23 v Geelong, Skilled Stadium.
Brownlow Medal 3:Adam Goodes (SY) 2:Rhyce Shaw (SY) 1:Ted Richards (SY)
Another dreary road trip to Geelong. Swans haven't won there for 10 years, Geelong unbeaten there for 29 games.
No Captain McVeigh due to family tragedy. The swans were not expected to win, espeically by the Geelong Advertiser.
So when youngster Gary Rohan out pointed Steve Johnson, and easily ran clear of Paul Chapman to sprint from one end of the ground to the other to goal from just on 50, We sensed something might be afoot. The Swans led by 2 points at the first change, and Geelong had left there kicking boots at home. 4 goals to 3 and the swans had extended their leave by half time.
The Swans got a couple, but the Cats would answer. 1 point added to the lead by the last change. Spangher, Ling, Parker, Johnson(s), then 3 in a row to Reid, Parker and Bolton. A 27 point lead with 12 minutes to go. Could it be. Geelong finished off the scoring, but the swans had enough of a lead to win. A emotional victory, for a few reasons.
Swans by 13. 2 goals each to the young guns Rohan, Reid, Parker and the war horse Bolton. Goodes(30) and Shaw with 26 disposals. Bolton(13) and Kennedy(12) tackles. McGlynn stifled Selwood.

Round 22 v Brisbane, SCG
Brownlow Medal 3:Adam Goodes (SY) 2:Josh Kennedy (SY) 1:Ryan OKeefe (SY)
The swans started quietly allowing the Lions grab the lead, but a different unit turned up after the break kicking 7 unanswered goals, to lead by a handy 31 at half time. The game then turned into a bit of an arm wrestle but the swans were now in finals mode, with a comfortable win to end the home and away season. Rohan again showed his skill around goal with a boundary snap for goal.
Swans by a 52. 4 goals to both Goodes and Bolton, and another 3 each to Rohan and Spangher. Shaw had 30 touches, Kennedy had 9 tackles, and White and 16 hitouts to complement Mumfords 24.
12-9-1.
