That article mentions that Campbell Heath will be amongst them. I think he is pretty close to assured of being redrafted.

No mention of Tom Mitchell. Do we have to wait until the national draft has been run before we see him.

Be really interested to get the full finishing order if someone is going to have a look. The Swans website will give the frontrunners of course and a few pics no doubt.

On Tom Mitchell, he is of course still at school doing his exams. As we have basically already committed to him in the ND, he can join training, I believe, whenever he likes, the same a a permission to train player.

The ND is timed each year to be immediately after exams so that's when we'll see him. ND is in Sydney this year due to the Giant monoply of the first half of the first round by GWS. Not sure if the public is allowed in?

Interesting that we delisted him when we didn't need to because we had the required numbers of list changes already. We then have to use a draft pick to get him back on.

Probably depends on whether there is still someone we want at pick 61 or whether at that pick Heath is the best pick. If there is someone we want at pick 61 it means we'll need to sweat it out in the Rookie draft where our first pick will be quite a way down the list.

Is any team really going to steal Heath from under our noses in the rookie draft? What would be the point?
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Ah yes. I forgot about that thing that the kids do when they are not playing footy. Forgot they were not professional yet.

For memory there was an invite from the Swans via email, limited places that had to be reserved but the public was welcome

I'd be suprised if Heath was drafted back to the main list. I know we did it with Buchanan all those years ago but there was little point in cutting Heath in the first place if that is our intention.

I'd say he's a pretty good shot for a rookie list spot

Spot on US. I am glad to announce that I am representing the R&Wers on 24th November out at Homebush, off to one side, down near carpark 3. No mans land. Registered with Swans first and "the ticket will be in the mail" however I am still waiting. And if I hear one murmer "opening of an envelope" .......

IMHO Cambo can play, but the injuries he has had shouldn't happen to a brown dog.....so I guess its a physchological (sic) shouldwe/shouldwenot situation, how much does Cambo want it, will a shock trigger him; he looked happy and connected at the CC, so not sure he was told at this stage......he sure is young though. and look what happened with Monty! Kicks us in front at the 2005 GF, and we have never booed him, I mean I am just saying...... the right kick at the right moment, back to rookies etc etc etc.

This is what I assume will happen. Dropped from the main list and then rookied. If he has a good and injury free year, then look at elevating him back onto the main list. Makes sense, I think.

                        Facebook:

Mitch Morton and Tommy Walsh square off in some boxing as they train for the first time with the Swans. Eugene Kruger won the 3km time trial. John Longmire highlighted the efforts of Alex Johnson who was hot on the heels of the leaders and Dan Hannebery.

We 'stole' Spangher from Hawthorn and TDL from Freo when they were doing pre-season training with those respective teams so it's not without precedence although I will admit that 2 knee reconstructions would put off most suitors. I wonder if we are still allowed the old trick of listing Heath as a NSW pre-selection like we did when we did a similar with Matt Smokey Davis in moving him from the senior list to the rookie list.

Those situations were a little different. Spangher had never been on the Hawks' list. He was just training with them. And I think I read somewhere that Freo had told TDL pre-draft that they were not planning on selecting him (and nor had he ever been on the Dockers' list).

I don't think TDL had been told pre-draft. I believe he saw Freo as his only shot and after they used their last pick on someone else, he thought that was it. Then the Swans called his name.
