    We've already given Pratt 10
Can't remember Cazaly, but certainly sounds like he was a freak.
Papley can't remember him that well either but he left us to go play for Moorabbin didn't he?
I'll give Browning the best to wear 43. One of my fav players but not in the same league as Bedford or Maxfield.

For me its split between Maxfield and Bedford.
I'll give it to Bedford. Bedford was a pure champion. Magnificent disposal, tough, fearless, and a great leader. Would have received far greater recognition had he played in a successful team of the era. And he was the only shining light in some very very dark times throughout the 70's. Was also a freakish cricketer and played for Victoria in an era when Shield teams played with their national representative players in it. He held his own as an all rounder in a team that had players of the calibre of Lawry, Sheahan, Redpath, Stackpole, Thomson, and in later years Walker.

I'll also give it to "wheels" Bedford on the say so of Stewie himself. At an aftermatch Stewie was signing an autograph for a very young Dr. J, and as he was signing it I remarked to Stewie that he reminded me a bit of Bedford but thats probably got a lot to do with the number on his back. Stewies reply was no doubt its the number, I'm happy to be considered in the same breath. Very humble man is Mr. Maxfield.

This for me, although I have no real recollections of seeing Bedford play. Browning was pretty awesome to watch down at the Lake Oval.

Roy Cazaly must have been as Bruce would put it very special.
This is very tough Maxfield has been a big contributer to the Bloods culture which has made us the consistent team we are now.
Toss of the coin between Bedford and Papley maybe it is the Port Melbourne influence but I will go with Bedford.
See my post. Max wasn't lazy.
