I can't wait to see what Rohan can produce next year! So glad we've locked him away for a few years to come! (hint hint, Sam Reid...)

Yes he is. Hoping for an injury free 2012 for Gazza and some more of these magic moments.
Superman still wears Brett Kirk Pyjamas

I stopped by Lakeside yesterday morning and watching the boys training for around 50 minutes or so. Even as training sessions go, it was a relatively dull spectator affair. A few lads were running around the perimeter at various speeds and intensities. (Eg Kennedy was running at a very gentle jog, Mitchell at a not much quicker jog, while Jack and Moore were doing a series of runs of maybe 200-300m at a much quicker pace.)

Hannebery was the most interesting to watch. When I arrived he was with the main group, doing a match-style drill (but with no tackling). He then looked to pull up sore and left the main group, and proceeding to do a series of short sprints and sharp turns under the watchful but encouraging eye of one of the trainers. He didn't look overly happy but his intensity was good while running. Then, about 10 minutes before I left, he rejoined the main group who were still doing what appeared to be the same drill. Although the skills they were practising were all pretty vanilla (running to receive, handballing to receiver, short-medium kicks) Hanners was an absolute standout in terms of his intensity - how hard he ran to space, how he demanded the ball, and how he kept on running even when his lead had been ignored.

He may not have the array of flashy skiils or pace that others bring to the game, but I have little doubt he is going to get the absolute most out of himself over his career.

Off topic, but I also got my first glimpse of Cunningham. He was with the main group and looked completely at home, handling the ball very confidently and showing some decent pace - not Rohan or Jetta pace but still reasonably quick.

Anyone else think Hanners might be too intense? Is burn out an issue for a young bloke like this?
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Not sure - an old adage is "Train hard, play easy" but Hanners seems to have only two settings, off and full on. It doesn't worry me because there are some wise old heads to keep an eye on him, and I'm sure they'll let him know if he needs to pace himself more.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yeah, footy clubs are so professional these days that signs of over training are picked up fairly early.

Let's hope the Swans manage him well because he's going to be a important member of this footy club for many years to come.

Hanners is Hanners. He would have probably horrified Dale Lewis.

                        Loved the smooch Vid.

Seriously that swinging tackle on the saints player is one of my all time favourite tackles. The momentum, speed and execution. Perfecto!

Although making that St Kilda grub his bitch this year was my favourite Smooch effort.
