Who do you think will be the biggest improver this year?

Wanted to gauge everyone's predictions on who will have improved/impressed the most come the end of the year.

Will Jesse or Jetta finally snap out of their form slump? Maybe Kieran will get back to his best following his injury-affected 2011? Will Tommy Walsh become the forward saviour we all hope he'll be? Or perhaps Jed Lamb will justify all the hype that surrounds his reserves form.

Personally my pick/hope is that Gaz will fulfill his undoubted potential and become a star. You heard it here first.

Agree totally that Rohan has huge potential and will be a one man highlight reel if he fulfills it, but I think Mike Pyke will surprise everyone this year and be recognised as a high quality big man rather than a servicable convert.

He needs to improve his accuracy in front of the sticks.

Something tells me that Rohan has a much better chance of becoming that sort of player than Jetta.

From a tweet I got from the club yesterday it sounds like Jack could be the one. "Kieran Jack set a PB in a recent yo yo test...one of the more dreaded fitness tests of the pre season." If we get a substantial improvement back to the form he showed before his injury last year then that gives us an x factor.

While I agree we can't necessarily expect Reid's development to happen in a straight line, I don't think that more attention from defenders should be an issue. He was regularly battling against two or even three at times last year, especially when Goodes was playing in the midfield.

For me, the most impressive (and exciting) thing about Reid is not his marking ability but his sheer appetite for the contest. It is rare for a young key forward to come into the competition at such a young age and show that they understand how hard the good forwards work, and how many contests they need to get to. Young Sammy seems to understand this instinctively, and his second and third efforts are pretty good too - even when he didn't mark the ball last year, he rarely allowed his opponent an easy take away. So long as he doesn't get ahead of himself and slacken off on the work rate, I think we can expect him to make a very good contribution in our forward line next year, even if he doesn't immediately improve his contribution on the scoreboard.

What I liked about Reid was his Carey like ability to use all of the forward line. He showed he could make a play up the ground then duck back to take a mark on a lead. This aspect of his game seemed to come a part of his style towards the end of the season. If he kicks straight this year...look out.

Even though Im a huge fan of jesse I think Pyke could be the guy to step up this season. Second ruck resting at FF this could be a break out season - if he is given the oppourtunity.
If Reid improves this would be a huge bonus but he will draw the best defender every week plus extra defensive work on him.
Gary Rohan is the other I would like to see improve but I think he may take another season to settle into a role. see him as a Mid Fwd maybe developing into a Goodes type role? (Not saying he is Goodes)
Based on last season jack and McGlynn are two who could really step up
LJ had a great first year,can he back it up and improve? wow if he can. I suppose the bigger question is will he fit into the defense with LRT Grundy and Richards?

Plenty of upside this season and looking at last season there werent many games when it all gelled, we seemed to have different cameos every week due to injuries, selection etc

Anyway cant wait for it all to start and hopefully a couple of young kids really step up and suprise us all.

which leaves us with a very good ressies side!

Has the potential to be an exciting season, let's wait and see ......
