Seats for Round 1 vs GWS

Will be going to ANZ for the first time for a swans game with a couple of mates and I'm just wondering if section 411 is any good?? its classified as platinum and by the looks of it, the view's not too bad. But whats the atmosphere like quite high up the stadium?
Im booking through ticketek online and you don't get to choose your seats apart from selecting gold/silver/platium etc

    any thoughts/suggestions?

I normally sit in bay 101, however my daughter (who normally sits with us) and friends have sat higher up for a group outing. Not going to guess where, however it I know they said it was a long way to the playing surface from some areas up high in this stadium.. I am sure that they moved after kick off to be closer to the action.. Security only points you towards your seat pre game... Typically 80,000 seat filled by 30,000 people gives plenty of scope to move within your section if you want.... You would only have to move is a paying ticket holder turned up were you moved to...

This is the seating plan for ANZ stadium. Platinum area is not too bad. But this will give y ou a better idea. I don't choose to sit any higher up, its just too high up for such a stadium type game.

When I book I am going to get the same area as my Red Zone Membership if I can. That is 120 to 126. Closer to 126 if I can.

          thanks guys for the feedback!

do u guys reckon if i call up ticketek instead of booking online, will they allow me to choose which platinum area i wanted to sit (ie the platinum seats closer to the action rather than the ones higher up)?
          cheers

No. They just offer you what they say are "best available", which seems to be a totally random selection of seats. Ticketek are hopeless now - years ago you used to be able to select specific seats, but not any more.

I'm travelling from Adelaide for this game but was a bit slow off the mark, we're in 410 row 7.

I'm staying with non sporting friends in Chatswood and want to watch the ressies too so any forumites suggestions on the best public transport arrangements from Chatwood to the stadium would be appreciated. I did ask a couple of months back but can't find the thread.

              Thanks in advance

Any City bound train from Chatty goes to Strathfield. Get out at Strath and change for an Olympic Park Train. You are there.

Thanks guys, the train it is then.

Very much looking forward to the double header of ressies and seniors and being part of the Swans army that should out number GWS fans by a fair margin I'd reckon.

I have always been able to pick seats if I book via phone, but I have requested specific bay, row, number so I don't know if that makes a difference. They charge a little extra for the "service" though.

My Swans seats are in 409 so its a good seat on about the 50 metre mark. The big screens give you the details.

I haven't decided whether to sit in my GWS Reserved Area or join the away team friends. Depends on how feral they are. I've heard about that Chardonnay Behind Clapping crowd.

GWS area is aisles 139 to 145 but I think you will be able to sit anywhere. So after looking at Primmy's link that is the opposite end to the Swans usual Red Zone seats.

Not only that, they put signs up at some stations pointing towards the platform for Olympic stadium.

Even if you're early you should be able to follow someone with a Swans scarf.
                            give it to the game

As you are wanting to see the ressies I fear the big bad wolf has given you a bum steer. The special event trains (that start at Sydney Central) stop at Strathfield but they do not start early enough for people who want to see the Magoos. Instead, you should make sure that the train you catch stops at Lidcombe; from there you get the misnamed Olympic Park "sprint" to Stad Oz. Ten minute service. From Chatswood allow at least one hour. (Check the Cityrail website for train times) On the way back you get a special event train to Central and change there to Platform 16 for Chatswood.
