    Really?
I hope you get the chance one day to come and sit next to me.

On second thoughts, let me buy you a ticket to the tennis.

The clappers ARE freaking annoying. I would rather yell, curse, scream and clap than use those abominations.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

That's actually quite a witty article. I don't necessarily agree with him and tbh I doubt he even believes it himself, but it's a good read.

The real scandal isn't the noise they make, but the half-time promotion that goes with it. They invariably choose someone (usually an attractive female to boot) from around Bays 26-31 mainly because that's where the cameraman is shooting from. The suckers on the other side of the ground have almost no hope of winning the prize.

LOVE the clappers! Now able to keep hands in gloves at the very cold matches without entirely sacrificing my noise-making ability. I don't think I want to know anyone who wants to watch footy in peace and quiet.

Don't get us started on that old chestnut.

I think I mentioned years ago the Noble will probably fall down before a red zoner won anything from the halftime promo for ALL supporters.

                Well done Trips, right again....

I find those clappers quite annoying - I have perfectly good hands to clap with and prefer to use them when appropriate...

I HATE those clappers. He is damn right about the rubbish they create too, no one keeps them and they don't get re-used.

The clappers are annoying when people pound them at random moments or when you're the only in the vicinity that doesn't have them.

I do use them, but when I clap at the end of the game or when I clap for a brilliant piece of play (a la Jets goal) I use my two hands. I started this subconsciously, but I now realise I do it as a mark of respect almost.

What I find more annoying at games however is different pockets at the SCG starting up their own Sydney *Clap Clap Clap* chant so none of it is timed together and it inevitably dies out. I also hate it when an organic 'Sydddd-neeey' chant starts and the cheer squad smothers it with the Sydney *Clap Clap Clap* chant.

Why do grown men and woman think that cheering or chanting like this adds to the atmosphere? Every cheer squad does it and only cheer squad members participate..the rest of us look at them and shake our heads with embarrassment. I can understand 8-12 years old doing it.

I love clapping and screaming my lungs out, and the collective moment when the "mob" start the sydney chant (and I agree, it is often smothered by the cheer squad . why?), but I ab solutely loath the clappers. they hurt my ears (sorry to those who love them, but I am not taking the piss, I have tinnitus, and they truly create a painful earache with a decibel scream in it). Fortunately I am not surrounded by clapper type people at present. For which I am humungously grateful.
