Not often footy pundits get this personal. Mark McClure on the Sydney last week:

Their forward line was atrocious with Jesse White and Andrejs Everitt down there, neither are up to AFL standard. When you pick up the ball, are running down the field and see those two, you look for another option

No way. Give him a full game to impress. Maybe Parker or Hanners as sub.

The sub call isa very hard one, but I think it's about time we started an actual forward in the team

                  Ouch!

Did he catch the game? I don't think Jesse actually spent that much time actually in the forward line, so what was the excuse for the rest of the game?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

I agree. I thought White would get a bit of a run with Goodes out, but they seem to like to give him 1 or 2 games in the firsts then drop him for 3 or 4. Not great for his development. Yet Reid gets to play despite being ineffective for the past few months. I don't understand how LRT is an automatic selection over White. The other point is Clarke. LRT is the perfect match up for him in defence. I hope Grundy/Ted don't get touched up by him.

But in the end it's a moot point. If Pyke displays anywhere near the form he demonstrated prior to his injury - when Mummy returns he should have the forward/ruck spot.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I think LRT proved why he gets games ahead of White tonight.

Lewis played well, I was happily cheering him on- but I think even Paul Chambers might have got a touch or two in that game.

Fair point, my good fellow. But Lewis really knows where to put himself to get the ball, not sure if Chambers or White can do that regularly

To be fair to both Pyke and LRT, they rucked against Jamar and Clarke. Not exactly a Couple of slouches. The intensity of the game wasn't great but LRT especially looked really good in his role last night. If he can maintain that effort, White has no chance of getting a game again this year.

I must agree, LRT was great and I'm not his biggest fan.
