Every contender has been thrashed this year.

A bad as our losses against richmond and saints have been we still havent lost by more than 5 goals.

    While the so called "contenders"
Geelong, pies, hawks, west coast, carlton have all been thrashed by double that.

Crows also got thrashed by hawks.

So bottom line is while the losses hurt, at the stage essendon is the only team not to have lost by more than us, so theres a damn good chance the premier will have put in a poor performance or two this year.

Chin up. Bring on the bulldogs!

Theyre 7-1 after 8 rounds hOwever havent won a final for 10 years.

To go from no final wins in 10 years to premiership is hard to see.

Essendon will have more wins in Melbourne than any other interstate team.. I think this will be a telling factor come business end.

Underestimate Essendon at your peril. Bomber and Hird are proving a big combo. I think Cats should have sued Bomber for breach of contract and made a condition that he have no involvement in a coaching department but what do I know? Thompson won some serious premierships as a player and now as a coach. He is the linchpin.

No doubt Essendon will get flogged at some point during the year, and have a few bad weeks, all teams go though it, lets just hope our mid season slump is shorter this year than last. It is impossible for any team to be up for rvery game of a long season, and take a couple of important players out of any team and they will falter a bit. While Dons have injuries, Stanton and Watson are still there, these are the players they can't aford to lose, with us it's Goodes and Mumford and guess what???? Imagine what would happen too the Cats if Stevie J went down, or if Pandles went out for teh season from the Pies. We do not have the depth in our bottom ranked players to take up th slack left by Goodes omission, even on one of Goodes bad days he's worth more than 2 or 3 replacements. We just have to battle on until he gets back or wait until next year and start looking for a proper forward and a second ruck in the Nic Nat model

The problem here is that Goodes wont be around for much longer. I have seen the future - and it is not as bright as I thought.
