    Sammy slide

Any chance Sammy will be in trouble for that slide in to The Lake for that goal?
Looked like Sammy came off worse but still.

He got to the ball first and that seems to be the saver

The MRP has said it won't be reporting slides any more (this season) where the player gets to the ball first. A Goodes / Walker type slide is still reportable. However, the umpires have been instructed to pay free kicks. This weekend's conditions showed how hard it can sometimes be to adjudicate when conditions are slippery.

Not sure I would even classify Reid's as a slide. He didn't slide into the contest to protect the contestable area. He kicked it off the ground and then slid on his follow through. Could have been classified as kicking in danger, I suppose. I notice the umpires paid frees for this a handful of times during the game.

Thought the same thing at the time LK.
But as it resulted in a goal, and at that end of the ALL fwds would do exactly that.
No reason for a fwd to dive head first at the ball in the goal square. Would be useless.
