    Jude at Leichhardt

    I know there are very differing views on RWO about being either soley an AFL supporter and hating other footy codes (especially NRL), or being able to watch and support both codes. Like a lot people from NSW, I'm in the latter camp. I saw this article about Jude the other day and thought it was a very mature way to view the world. Similar to seeing Storm coach Craig Bellamy on AFL Insider a few weeks back.

    He is a star in his own sport and can still get out to enjoy other sports. I found it refreshing and isn't this the way sport is supposed to be?

      Not unlike Kizza's post-game response to being asked about rugby league. Can't remember word for word but the interviewer was trying to get him to say league is no good, and he just said "Nah, you can't say that. But I love playing footy...". Why shouldn't people like more than one game, as long as they keep their priorities in order! ;-)

      Personally I can't be bothered other than the 3 nights a year for Origin, when I try to work out what's happening and resist changing channels when I work out the answer is "nothing much"... ;-)

                  I still follow the Tigers, not in the same way I did 60's thru to 80's, but I like a good game of open league, especially the free flowing fast game the Benji and Robbie try to conjure up. I can't watch Union anymore, too technical and too many games decided by penalty goals. I stayed up to watch the one dayers against the poms and that was a bit boring, probably because we're getting flogged more than anything. I like most sport, but I won't be watching hte Olympics too much build up not enough action and I cannot for teh life of me, figure out why anyone would watch golf, but that's just me

                      No, not just you GS. Mark Twain famously remarked that golf is a good walk spoiled.
                      But to stay on track, I grew up playing and watching RL and RU and still enjoy watching Origin and international Rugby.
                      He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

                          I don't want to upset anyone on RWO by watching the "mate against mate" thingy. Instead I watch the Lingerie League on Foxtel. The Umpires have ALFU on the back of their caps. Obviously don't like Al very much.

                          Jude probably likes attending grounds with 1940's toilets. It is good nostalgia. Puts you back in time. In the days when men were men and the phrase "if you spray and sprinkle, be a sweety and wipe the seaty" didn't exist.

                          Actually the true story was that Jude was there to find Big Al and bring him back to RWO. Big Al come back we miss you

                              Thats why they added the bottle of scotch. 18 swigs and the game is done, as is the bottle.

                                  Yep one of the nice things about Sydney is it's much more ecumenical about sport. People aren't rusted-on fanatical as in Melbourne and they're more likely to look for a way to enjoy the sport rather.

                                  It was Leigh Colbert who asked Jack after the match: "Better than that other game?"
                                  Keiren's response was pretty cool: "Not on live TV!" Nice way of batting away what must be a really annoying question.
