    Round 15 - Brisbane

We play a twilight match at the SCG this week against Brisbane, who've been performing like a yo-yo all season.

They sit with a group of five teams on six wins and seven losses. Two of those wins were against the Demons, and their other wins were against the Suns, Giants, Bulldogs - and West Coast!

We seem in pretty good touch at the moment, so this should be another chance to build up a bit of percentage before the start of a very tough run home.

I'm really nervous about this game. These are exactly the games we've blown in the past. It will be a good test of the steel in this group of players if they go in hard and quell the Lions early. We weren't very convincing in the first half against GWS. If we think the Lions will be an easy win then we may be in for a surprise - the Swans are the scalp the Lions need to prove they have improved and West Coast wasn't a fluke. Likewise, if we lose, we'll probably be out of the Top 4 at the end of the weekend - with the Eagles at Subi the following week!

It's a long way down from the top! Even I got a bit worried about the GWS game for some reason (irrational, I know). Half of me was glad it wasn't a heart stopper, but another part of me had dozed off by 3/4 time too! In never pleased haha but yes hopefully it'll be a close exhilarating match! Last weeks match put some of my friends off football for a couple of weeks due to the lack of spectacle

I think maybe the effort of gWS has been underestimated. They have manged in a number of games to stick close to top teams up to half time and we were only 5 goals or so up at half time. I agree the Lions will be stiffer opposition over 4 qtr's, but will play a slightly different style, allowing for a faster more free flowing game style. With Mummy pretty much up to speed, maybe this game gets him to close to 100%, and Goodes building momentum and fitness we should be too good for Brissie, even with their improved form, as far as west coast goes, lets hope it rains

Clearly last week against GWS we were still coming off the highs of beating essendon and the cats in close, tough games. It would of been hard for the group to motivate themselves for the game but to come away with a 94 point win was quite surprising after how we played in the first half. On to this week and I think it is a danger game but id be much more concerned if it was at the gabba. I think we'll be too strong for them and win by 35 points.

Even though Brisbane easily accounted for a depleted Melbourne side last Sunday we are a class above them and will win by + 10 goals

I expect a win but Lions will make us work for it. They have some handy players but our midfield will eventually get on top. Swans by 19.

Does anyone know if General Admission tix are still available for this game. I'm getting mixed messages where I'm looking?

Clearly a better side then the Lions and almost unstoppable at the SCG this year. Will be an absolute mauling after a tight first half.

Brisbane are a chance for the top eight and they knocked off West Coast a month ago. There'll probably be just three or four goals in it.

Despite the crappy timeslot, I reckon it'll be a good crowd on Saturday,as it often is against Brissy. I also think (Despite the poor crowd last week) that more than a few dormant Swannies fans are starting to wake up to the fact that this year's team is not without a genuine shout at going deep into the finals, and are playing some exciting, excellent football along the way and want to get on the wagon before it leaves.

I'll be doing my bit to help crowd numbers - bringing a first timer up from Canberra for the Brissy game, my Mum is coming to the St Kilda Game for her 2nd game ever and my fairly recently acquired better half has (a little reluctantly, but with some sweeteners thrown in haha!) agreed to come to the pies game. That could be a painful night for me however - she has no ideas of the rules, and I'm having to work very hard to convince her of the wonders of AFL footy (Fair do to her, she is British by birth, but then again she did fall asleep during the last quarter of the the Geelong game - despite my ongoing angst about the way the game was going.) She is very much a work in progress when it comes to getting her to enjoy our wonderful game!

Back on topic - it'll be a tricky encounter on Sunday as the Lions have found good form recently. We are hard to beat the SCG, have a good recent record against them, and I think will be too strong for them. Swannies by 31 after it being a tight affair for the first 2/3 quarters.

Rain is predicted though. That'll reduce the crowd.

Swans will win by 30 or more. Even if there is rain there should be a decent crowd probably around 15-20 thousand as long as it doesn't rain as much as the western bulldogs game. If we can kick straight again 9 straight goals Sydney by 50+
