A Week Is A Long Time In Footy

Yes it is an old saying but it is also very pertinent. James Hird is just finding this out as his team go down in a big way to a Geelong team that didn't exactly have anyone excited until last night.

This period of the season sees the sorting of the pretenders from those who are the real deal. It is the run home that is the most important phase and the sides that will be very competitive in September will shine more as the season develops. Those that are May Bloomers will drop off!

For teams like Essendon, Richmond, North, St Kilda and Fremantle this time of the season is incredibly important as it means the difference in making the eight or not. For the sides in the top five sides Swans, Eagles, Pies, Hawks & Crows a drop in form could effectively end their premiership charge.

So, who are the real deal this year?

Hawthorn are sure looking good and without Buddy as well. Making. Collingwood look a bit ordinary.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
