Sounds a bit syllogistic to me. Leaving that aside, our forward line and our lack of leg speed are our greatest weeknesses, and Rohan would help (possibly even solve) both of those issues simultaneously.

For one thing, I think you mean to say "falsely syllogistic", unless you agree that it's a reasonable conclusion.

For another, since we ARE playing a PF, I would say Beerman's syllogism is perfectly valid.

For yet another, this is a thread about Birdy, how good he's been, and how he'll go for the rest of the year, with a bit of a detour into B&F placings. Given his injury, what the hell has Gary Rohan (bless him) got to do with it?

And finally, Birdy has be fantastic. His game against the Crows was outstanding.

Its funny with Craig he is kind of essential to the team balance and structure. He might be the Ben Matthews type that you can't place his niche but you just know he's somehow essential.

I agree with y ou Hood. Its all about team balance and where he fits in. Its not a race, its a game of football. I have also noted just what he does, and I agree with another post, you don't notice him on the day so much, but you sure do when it comes to replays. Admire his work.

Good grief, I can't remember anybody who had Ben's ability to consistently butcher a backpass. (well maybe Ablett!) Birdie is slow, but he has talent and footy smarts; neither of which I ever associated with Backpass Benny. Bird is an unsung hero who's worth is only realised when he's not there and his replacement can't do the same job. He's doing the 14 proud.

Skilton (how many saw him?) & even Kelly...Bird is not. Doing OK but not a great & unlikely to reach that status. If the chips were down he would be the first of our midfield to go. Does make a few unforced errors. I love him like the rest & definitely has some skill & guts. Certainly a step up from Ben.

I'm always confident when Birdy is lining up for goal. He rarely misses.
Has quietly gone about improving his game after an injury riddled last season, and has currently entrenched himself firmly within our best 22.

Like Smith, the quiet achiever. Goes about his business without any fuss or fanfare.

Love the Birdy. Brilliant by hand, and usually by foot too.

Bird is a good average player. His tackling , disposal and effort are all very good. From a team balance perspective he is just another midfielder with lack of pace. Collingwood have hurt us on the outside before. Bird must not let his opponent get goal side of him because he often can't run players down.
