    Preliminary opponent.

Who will we be playing in the premlim next Friday?

I would love to be playing Collingwood so we could smash that bloody hoodoo, but I think Westcoast will be to strong for the pies, they will dominate the ruck to get first use of the ball & their forwards look to strong for the pies defence.

    Whoops, bloody sensitive IPad !
I want Pies season over tomorrow nite really.
Will then be an enormous task for WCoast to travel again to Sydney, and to be honest if they can win on the road again, 6 days later.... Very much doubt it.

It'll be the mighty West Coast Eagles, Collingwood's defence will struggle to contain their forwards without Maxwell playing loose.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

West Coast with Waters out will be a loss as well. I agree with you though. I just think West Coast have too many points in them - similar to Hawthorn, and the Pies defense will not be good enough to stem the flow of points. I think West Coasts will do enough.

        Swans v Eagles.

I want West Coast too, would hate to lose to Pies and not make the GF, couldn't stand it. Having said that WC scare me too.

My heart and mind are torn here. The Eagles are playing some great footy yet I think we have a lot better chance of being in the GF if we play them in the PF. The Pies look dodgy but we saw how they lifted for their big game against the Swans a few weeks ago - then fell apart after that effort. And it'd be great for FIGJAM to have his team go out in straight sets (esp if the Crows win).

But history says that every year we expect the winners of the R1 finals to win against the losers from R1 - and it very rarely happens. It's odd on that the Swans will be playing the Pies and the Hawks will be playing the Crows.

AND THERE'S A REALLY GOOD CHANCE IT'LL BE A SWANS-HAWKS GRAND FINAL. How exciting has this year turned out to be?

Would love to beat Collingwood in the prelim.

WC have the height in the forward line and a much better ruck combination. However, in the cold and wind at the MCG tomorrow night, I think the Pies will knock off the Coasters.

Nice as it would be to knock out Collingwood ourselves, I would feel more confident if we were playing the Eagles.

We've showed over a period of time now that we have WC's number and would feel very confident that we would beat them at ANZ, especially with them having another long road trip with only 6 days rest. A really tough task for them. And the reverse is true for Collingwood. They surely have our number and no fear of travelling and playing at ANZ. That said, circumstances will never be better for us to beat the Pies. And whatever we do in the GF, if the beat the Pies on the way there, it will a tremendous season, with a lot to celebrate.

For us to break the hoodoo against the Pies would give us the perfect momentum going into the GF

I didn't really care one way or the other, but watching Freo hit that massive brick wall tonight makes me hope the Weagles win tomorrow. Back to back trips across the country off 6-day breaks is a massive disadvantage...

They really did hit the wall didn't they?
I hope the Coasters win tomorrow for no other reason than I would love to see the fallout from Collingwood going out in straight sets. Eddies head would explode, it would be hilarious!

I want the pies to lose and Cloke to go to Carlton. That would b just great.

I do like the idea of knocking over the Collingwood hoodoo on our way to the last Saturday in September, but West Coast will surely be more vulnerable.

Interesting yet pointless fact: if it is West Coast, prelim final weekend will involve almost the same teams as 2006 when we last played a PF, Hawthorn taking the place of Freo this year.
