In view of Kurt's fragility and the curse that seems to afflict the Swans Father-Sons - I think his kids would be better off elsewhere rather than risking a curse squared.

    The Swans Father-Son curse:

    Gareth John (crushed larynx)
    Stephen Doyle (Ankles and knees)
    Heath James (Everything)
    Sean Dempster (bad trade)
    Tom Mitchell (bad trade)
    Shane Morrison (went elsewhere)
    David Round (went elsewhere)
Anthony & Darcy Daniher (went elsewhere)
Josh & Kyle Dunkley (went elsewhere)
    Ty Zantuck (went elsewhere)

And that's not including the players whose fathers didn't reach the relevant games qualification number.

You are forgetting the fact that he’s crossed his DNA with a broader gene pool. Unlike a pug. There’s every chance his progeny will be made of sturdier material than he was.

You just made me laugh aloud in public.

Gareth John - struck down by a karate chop by Simon Madden.

I wasn't at that game but have heard that it was Maddens knee or worse yet his boot.
            If anyone knows for sure?

I thought knee. I seem to recall he slipped during a ruck contest. Falling forward throat connecting with raised knee.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Thanks snajik - Sounds plausibly accidental.
Rucks, right down to U12 were taught to use their knee as protection (and leverage) at the bounce.

You know, if they could get it reasonably realistic, I'd probably buy the Tom Papley backpack. But of course, if it was realistic, it would have to retail for much more than $39.99.

I was working on some prototypes of the upside down Tom Papley Backpack (as modeled by Patrick Cripps - see opposite), but have decided to add to the package with the all new Tom Papley inflatable.

You can inflate it and pur it on the seat next to you so you don't feel like the only Swan supporter in the area
                    AND
He can be used to mind your seat when you go to the bar
                    AND
He can be thrown and bounced about the crowd (like a beach ball at the cricket) between quarters with no damage to spectators (example below).

RNR, I think the Papley inflatable is a great idea. Maybe when you're discussing it's features with your design team consider incorporating
an esky backpack that "Tom" would wear and possibly a programmable audio feature where "Tom" boos opposition players about to
take a shot at goal. The real Papley has a few strings to his bow as a player, and your inflatable "Tom" could reflect that with these
extra features. There is a danger of course that your inflatable "Tom" could get lonely over the long, cold Sydney winters and you may
be called upon to design a female companion for him. Anyway, I probably should leave it at that.

                          Re Gretel Tippett:

yes she was wonderful in the Commonwealth Games. Her athleticism combined with her Tippettesque height + her body positioning to deny the defender access to the ball + her nearly flawless goal shooting accuracy - made her almost perfect.

Loved her quote that she was accustomed to being buffeted trying to win the ball having grown up with two brothers (well done Kurt and Joel).

Ash Brazill has shown it’s possible to combine AFLW and netball (in her case for Collingwood). Though Ash did sit out the last season of AFLW in order to concentrate on her (very successful) bid for Commonwealth Games netball selection.

Unfortunately, even if Gretel did choose an AFLW career she would likely play for Gold Coast not the Swans.

I’m sure there would be a clause in her contract.
