    Gary Ablett

Was at Sydney airport last night preparing to travel home to Melbourne after watching the unfurling of the flag when the Suns players arrived. Gary Ablett ended up next to me in the line at Subway. While he was ordering hi meal, I reckon he was interrupted 5 times by people wanting his autograph or a photo. (Most of them were Swans fans!) He was absolutely magnificent with everyone who wanted a piece of his time. He chatted generously to everyone and was polite and courteous to all including the Subway staff who served him. (I'm positive they had no idea who he was!) I've always been a bit ambivalent about him but am now a fan. He was a thorough gentleman!

    Gaz's post-match recovery includes Subway???

No surprise at his behaviour. He certainly comes across as an unaffected guy.

Really pleased to hear that, he has always come across, to me at least, to be a very down to earth kind of bloke so it's nice to read that the man matches the image.

A bit different to a few comments on here about Ablett himself and his GF night antics at the nightclub with the Swans players.

FWIW, I agree with those who thinks he seems a decent bloke....

I thought Gary Ablett, as a relative youngster, handled the very difficult business of transferring to the GC with great maturity. And I have been nothing other than impressed with his way of doing things since. Good luck to him.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
