    Goodes

    Well done sir.

A great of the game. The one I'll never forget is the final vs Port in '03 in the ruck. And that Chris Judd said at his retirement presser his toughest opponent was our man says something.

For my whole life watching the football and following the Swans Adam has always been there. It's gonna be so odd him not being there

Going to be so strange to see the swans go around in 2016 without no 37.

Words can't describe the joy goodesy has given me across his career - what a player, and more so what a gentleman to go with it.

It just wont be the same - farewell goodesy - i hope you have a statue outside the scg one day - i think it should be in action kicking that goal in the 2012 gf!

Itll be a long time till we see someone as good as goodesy again in red and white. What a shame it ended in a loss tonight, but that is footy - few get the farewell they deserve.

Lets hope the footy community manage to pull their collective finger out and give him the plaudits he deserves for a career so grand!

Looking forward to seeing what goodesy can do in his post- footy career. But whatever that may entail, no swans fan will ever forget what joy you have provided us with!

          Bravo Goodesy!

Glorious then, but I'll have two other abiding memories of him. First, the 2012 Grand Final. Not his finest game statistically, but what he did that day was beyond statistics. On one leg, but still a battering ram who carried us on his shoulders when the game was up for grabs and he was needed more than ever before. Second, the back end of this season, when he conducted himself with such dignity in the face of such cowardly abuse. He transcended sport. Thanks for everything Goodesy.

Champion player, champion person. Will be sorely missed, congrats on a stunning career, all the best for the future.

Hope at some point he returns to us in an off field capacity.

My favourite little bit of information about Adam.

" By the end of the 2007 season he had played 191 consecutive matches."

What an absolute machine. Does his knee a few times, wins two Brownlows and plays almost 200 games in a row.

                        Once in a generation player.

One of the saddest things about Goodes' retirement is that he's finished his career with the same number of goals as Dermott Brereton. It will be a historical reminder of the racism that leaves a bitter spectacle that ended his marvelous career.

                              An absolute champion!
Such a huge part of the success our club has enjoyed since 2003.
I have a magnificent picture of Goodesy with my 3 sons at Melbourne airport when the team arrived for the 2012 Grand Final. Going to get it printed off and framed tomorrow.
Thank you Goodesy for being the footballer and human being we came to love so much.
