Not watching, but from the AFL site blog:

'Sydney's Ryley Stoddart took out the second heat, with Gold Coast's Touk Miller, Fremantle's Matt Taberner and Port Adelaide's Dan Houston providing stiff competition'

Really annoys me when they have non-AFL players in the sprints. The taxi drivers a few years back. Sure those 16 yo kids were impressively quick (and physically look like men) but who gives a crap that they beat AFL players?? There are plenty of 16 year olds world wide who can. But the GF sprint should be about who is the fastest in the AFL. The Olympics and World Championships are for just seeing who can run fast.

Stoddart still needs a hair cut

Jordan Murdoch has got some wheels. Is he still a chance to come our way via the Rohan trade?

Will be twice the player if he can see where he is going.

Agree re: non AFL players in the sprint.
Any else notice how quickly the start went off?
Most of the sprinters weren't ready at all.

Who the hell came up with that idea?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Probably Gill the Dill as the first non-AFL participants were in 2016 under his watch when 13 CABS sponsored the sprint allowing a cabbie and a local footballer from (James Shirley) form Murrumbeena to compete (the latter won) - the first time a non-AFL listed player has competed.

Then this year, the AFL advertised nationally for competitors http://m.afl.com.au/finals/grandfinalsprint

                    Gill is a nuff nuff

+1 to the others talking about including runners from outside the AFL. Ridiculous.

Usain bolt is in Australia. Maybe the mariners could field a runner too.

Absolutely stupid decision to include athletes in the sprint. The whole idea of the sprint is to see who the fastest AFL listed players are. They might as well run the Stawell Gift on GF day.
