I’m happy to debate with you but please stop with the “silly” and “cmon”. It’s belittling and unnecessary.

I never said that Campbell shouldn’t be playing mids in the 2s. In fact, in the pre-match thread for the bulldogs, this is exactly my suggestion - play Wicks as the pressure forward and Campbell in the 2s as a mid. However, if Campbell is playing 1s, IMO, he is not yet physically ready for midfield.

I tend to agree that Campbell is probably not strong enough for a midfield role in the seniors. He will develop into a good player but he is not ready yet. He is more of a flanker at this stage.

For a couple of years before he was finally moved, we were told he was going to play midfield only for that to be abandoned when we suffered injury to other defenders (eg Rampe's arm) or just because Longmire wasn't confident in the defence without him.
Correct. Horse has openly said 2019 was the year they were going to move him to the midfield, but over the space of 12 months we lost Grundy, Smith and McVeigh either completely or to large stretches - and that Mills' IQ and experience were as vital to holding what was left together as anyone, including Rampe.

We can argue forever about whether it was robbing Peter to pay Paul, but it's a fair logic.

Having said that, I really don't like it being done this year for patches given the immaturity of our midfield.

Wasnt my intention to belittle . We agree Campbell should be mids in the 2s . We need a plan for him and to stick to it . Doesnt seem like theres one for him at present .

I’m sure there is a plan TB, it’s just that we may not know it. Horse is an experienced coach and even though we may disagree with his selections and moves, he has his reasons. Campbell needs another pre season to be ready for midfield and until then can play HF/HB. He has undoubted ability so it’s just a matter of time. Playing him in the mids in the ressies is not necessarily the answer.

You seem to be struggling with quote attribution Steve, but I never suggested trading Papley either.

I see Rampe has acknowledged we were let down by the senior players - that's sometimes something that the senior players have to say, but in this instance was a very accurate reflection of where we failed. Let's hope they respond tomorrow night.

I have already acknowledged in an earlier post that it was Merlo555 that suggested trading Papley.....but I'm sure you agreed with him or at least gave some support to the suggestion. Maybe I'm wrong.
