3rd quarters of football and they managed one goal thanks to the aid of a 50 m penalty. It shows me a team that is poorly coached and has very little pride. Luckily Werribee relaxed in the last quarter or it could have been super embarrassment.Francis and Roberts were the only 2 that could showed anything. Callum Mills and a handful of other players were watching. I bet they thought unless we win the flag this year the future is grim.

We have had very little key injuries this year compared to most. You can't think the insipid performances most weeks in the VFL is a positive for our depth surely? I believe that's what the above poster was getting at...

Sometimes teams just put in bad performances that aren't a true indication of their position.
Sometimes some people like to put the most negative spin on said performances.....for whatever reason. Only they know what that is.
Truth is, only time will tell.Comment

what did everyone think of Charlie McCartin's game yest
It has only been a few weeks i think since joining.
Nice long left kick. 195cm tall. 25yrs of age. Not a bad mark. Quick enough."be tough, only when it gets tough"

I watched a few games recently and saw them play some really good footy. They won one game which put them somewhere like 10th on the ladder, then the next couple of games they were in a position to win but with a couple of easy goals missed, a stupid free kick given away by eg Ladhams or fumble at the wrong time and it was over. They got themselves in a position to win but were not able to close the game out. When increased intensity was needed as a team, they instead fell short.Comment

He has played well, but it's so hard to see how he ever makes the AFL side given the number of quality young midfielders vying for spots, eg, Corey Warner, Roberts, Sheldrick , Cleary, Mitchell, Konstanty and there are a few more.
It's already been reported on Gettable that there is interest in Konstanty from other clubs. Although he hasn't shown good consistent form, there are signs that he has potential.
I have doubts that we can retain all the players we want to retain. Depth is great, but when injuries are few, opportunities dry up, and players look at other options.
I think Ladhams is one who I would trade this year, for mutual benefit. Will Green has looked great for such a young ruckman and may well surpass McAndrew as our backup ruckman by next season, if Ladhams is gone.Comment

I wouldn't care much about what we get for him. I think it's worth just to get him off our books and free up a list spot. That said, I think we could get a pick in the 40s for him. He's really not a bad player and could work out well at a club like Geelong.Comment

Unless money is an issue are we really in need of freeing up a list spot ?
We have played the least and have about 10 who would be in front of a pick in the 40s.Comment
