Brisbane have done well with Martin Pike

Just watching the Lions dispose of the Dogs today I was really impressed with Pike's game.
His kicking today was spot on esp from about 50 out.
I really thought he was all but finished after the Roos but how wrong was I?!

Definitely an underrated player. He seems to be able to fill whatever role they have someone missing from, be it marking forward, flanker, backman, whatever. He is just so versatile and has the skills to boot.

Look back to last year's PF and he really kept them in the game in the first 3 quarters before they kicked into gear and ran all over us in the last.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Probably the luckiest player in the league with hie premiership medalions.

Remember at least a couple of times when his career 'was over'

And it shows you don't need to be obsessed with a 'youth policy' - the right experienced player in a lineup can be a godsend, as Brisbane have found out a few times courtesy of Pikey!

Considering he was an absolute nut case as a youngster, has played with 4 clubs, most of whom gave up on him, and now has 3 Premiership medallions around. he has done alright.

As a player, now he is a very valuable contributor to that Lions team.

Pikey also played for Fitzroy in 1996. He'd be a welcome guest at any '96 Royboy reunion.

But FOUR, that is a grand effort.
