Reporters are known to put people in their best, who many others did not recognise as being in the best. Many threads on that too I'm sure.
Umpires/Brownlow votes constantly come under criticism when players who should get votes don't and players who should do.
Explains why Bartel didn't win too many awards other than a Brownlow. It was other peoples opinions.

Why should I need to prove my opinion. Watch the game, most of his disposals in the first half of the game were very ordinary. The quality did improved in the 2nd half.

You obviously don't your local paper. I'm sure they'd be just as biased as the SA/Vic/NSW/QLD papers are.
