    Maybe not. 1-1 now. Damn.

It must be quite something to be at Wembley right now.

Tho' the thing that has always put me off soccer is all the diving, and rolling around on the ground in "agony" after
your shin was flicked by an opposing players bootlace. #14 for Italy is carrying on right now as if his leg was just
    amputated.

It’s the antithesis of AFL where players try not to show hurt.

    #Stretchergste aside

A penalty shoot out with 5 misses, and only 5 goals.

It is interesting that soccer is the biggest sport in the world, and cheating like this is so accepted and forgiven as if its an intrinsic
part of the game. Which I guess it is. I wonder if they practice all the rolling around on the ground clutching their ankle at training.
Is there a stat for it? Like number of "I'm in agony" rolls per game, ratio of penalties received to number of "agony rolls" etc.
    You'd hope so.

In a game where one score is usually enough to win a game, and the rules say any kick to the leg is a penalty, it makes sense that the players make sure the referee knows they have been kicked, especially anywhere near the box.
And about half the rolling around on the ground in agony ended up with injuries enough to take them off, so thats not too bad.

In other words, its not a different culture. Its the nature of the games that one lends itself to the behavior, than the other.

I think "It's coming home" is like the theme song / slogan for the cup coming to England as they are the "home" of soccer.
Something like that anyway.... I guess they'll have to wait a bit longer now.

Watching the WC fans lose their minds during this match is marvellous, regardless of what the final result is.
