    12 games

    12 games is the longest winning streak the Swans have ever had. This was achieved on four occasions:
    * Round 5, 1918 to the 1918 Final (Argus system premiership match).
    * Round 10 1933 to round 1 1934, including the 1933 Grand Final.
    * Round 2, 1935 to round 13, 1935.
    * Round 5, 2014 to round 17, 2014.

    Our current streak sits at 9 wins. To get to 13 wins, we need to defeat GWS Giants (away), Fremantle (home), St Kilda (away) and North Melbourne (home).

    12 wins is not a particularly long streak. Seven streaks of 15 games or more have been achieved since the start of the 2000 season.
    * Essendon won the first 20 games of the 2000 season.
    * Brisbane Lions won 20 in a row across the 2001 and 2002 seasons including the 2001 Grand Final
    * Geelong won 15 in 2007 (later won the premiership)
    * Geelong won 15 in 2008 ending at a preliminary final before losing the 2008 Grand Final
    * St Kilda won the first 19 games of the 2009 season before losing the Grand Final
    * Geelong won 16 in 2022 (ending at a Grand Final I prefer not to think about)
    * Melbourne won 17 across the 2021 and 2022 seasons, including the 2021 Grand Final

    Out of these seven streaks, five teams won the premiership.

    Another streak worthy of note:

    The Swans have never spent more than 11 rounds in a row at the top of the ladder. This happened from round 3 to round 13, 1909. In various seasons where the Swans finished on top of the ladder, there has often been another team performing equally as well. The Swans would often swap with that team before claiming top spot at the end of the season. In 1909, South Melbourne only finished on top of the ladder ahead of Carlton by percentage.

    The Sydney Swans are on track to break this record. The Swans have been on top of the ladder since round 8, nine rounds in total. The Swans are on top by 3 games, so Sydney has a 100% chance of getting to 12 rounds, breaking the old record.
