After twenty years or so of not really looking like winning a premiership, largely due to being punished for shamelessly rorting the salary cap, they might now be able to win a premiership, with a side that many people has been put together through shamelessly rorting the salary cap. Interesting stat mentioned by the commentators early in the game - so far this year, Carlton have more goals from free kicks than any other team. And, right on cue, that's how they get their second goal!

This is the first game I've attended since the changes to the HTB interpretation and Carlton supporters expect every tackle to be HTB.
Such a crappy game from Geelong. No connection, no kicking ability, just relying more on the past glory and a select few. Carlton getting sucked in the contest coz they know that the Geelong midfield is going to cough it up. And Geelong not good enough to spread it to the outside to hurt Carlton. No chance Geelong any threat.
Listening to Triple M walking from the ground last night, they said something like September is better when Carlton and Collingwood are there. Then someone added Essendon. 😏
I can't wait until the year when all the interstate teams are in the top 8. The only final at the MCG will be the Grand Final. Last year I was really hoping for a GWS v Brisbane GF. It nearly happened!
