    Their session has just ended and their vice-captain has been officially ruled out (Jones). Sounds like Matera and Brett Jones will be at least named.

            You certainly do - but at the same time anything that interferes with West Coast's planning and flexibility come Saturday has to be a good thing.

            Here's hoping that Matera and B. Jones both play, and neither see out the first quarter.

                If they rush Matera back then well and good. If they do it shows they are as good as admitting they have a forward line problem.

                    I am rather upset to hear it. Braun is a fantastic player, and quite a lovely chap. Terrible to see him miss a Grand Final through injury after contributing so much during the season.
                    I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
                    We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                                            Over-rated IMO. Still prone to some real clangers. A bit like Mathews for mine.

                                                Matera looked Maguire-like on the track for me from the footage. Which is to say he looked proppy, not that he was writhing on the ground like he'd been nailed by a pile-driver.
