Des... continually giving them support... giving them money.... when they continually DO NOTHING about the problem just isn't right. Don't give me the crap about them asking for 7 and it being out of their hands etc etc. We could easily hint at pulling out of the money-draining Stade Oz committment if we wanted some bargaining power.

I'd probably buy an AFL membership... go to as many games as I like. For a concession, it works out to about $4.50 a game. If you want to talk value... there 'tis.

    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar

      Fair enough, Charlie.

      And you know what?

When the club starts realising that they are losing out on memberships and attendances in Vic, THAT'S when things will change...

Membership in Melbourne really isn't worth buying except for the fact I love this club and couldn't think of not joining up. If we got 4 games in a year I would still be a member but not a full member because in the end paying an extra $20 is not worth it if all I get in jack **** and a bloodly dumb looking keyring.

I doubt I'd be a member with only 4 games in Melbourne. So I guess that makes me one of Cure the Sane's, less than Holy, members that don't matter.

I tossed up membership this year with only 5 games. Already missed the first 2 because of family commitments. Kinda wish I never renewed with only 3 games left to watch live. Now it equates to $30 a game. This time last year if I was in the same predicament, having missed the first two games, the conversion would be $22.50. Big difference if u ask me

"less than Holy, members that don't matter"

            hmmm.... don't recall saying that.

I still don't understand how people can't get around Sydney being a Sydney based side....

Will they have 13 home games in Sydney for the next 20 years? 10 Years? 5 Years? highly doubtful.

Like I said, first and foremost, comes the stability and survival of the club.

I'd love more games in Melbourne.
And I'd love more day games in Melbourne that I could take my kids to.
But I am simply happy to still have a team to support, and there will be ups and downs, and things I don't agree with along the way.
            I don't have a membership this year.
I am travelling through Europe during the season, and willbe missing games.
Now I am happy to support the club, but I'm not into pissing $$$ away.

So what I'd be saying to teh AFL, if I were the Swans board is this.

            1. minimum 5 games gaurenteed in Melbourne
            2. Make sure that Melbourne based fans get to watch the games on Free to air TV.

            That's all I ask.
If the game is being played interstate I simple wanna watch it.
I'm not paying 60 bucks a month for Foxtel to watch the odd Swans game.

If we got a free to air committment CTS it would mean any Sunday match would be at 1pm and as we all know the Sydney siders dislike this starting time because its too early and some also don't like Saturday Night matches (Too late). Maybe the club should look at playing some of it games at 2pm Saturday???

Hence why I never quoted you saying that

but the inference was there. Deny it at your own discretion, I'll be happy

                  OK, then.

I didn't even friggin imply it.

Yeah, if a Victorian supporter decides to change teams becasue they don't see enough live games played in Melbourne by a Sydney based team, then they can go.

And BTW, I am a Victorian based member, in case you didn't pick that up.
So I assume you though I was referring to myself as one of the "less than Holy, members that don't matter"

Yes, I do that all the time

                    Ooooh. Harsh post, but fair

I like a bit of ticker showing.

A bit of ticker showing was when Brisbane were kicking goals and coming back at us.
Damn, it's hard being a Swans supporter, but to their credit, they held on and did brilliantly.

And I say brilliantly because usually they'd just let the lead dwindle away.

                      Very very nice to see

Hmm, considering the type of people who live in the inner-west, I'm seriously scratching my head.

I mean to make people like you in Leichhardt you have to be an Italian or a lesbian.

To make people like you in Newtown and Camperdown you have to be leftist feral Liberal-hating student activist and or wannabee drag queen. What, is Nathan Buckley going to do a Drag show at the Imperial or something?! Or is Eddie going to host the next "No war" rally

To make people like you in Redfern you have to be either Aboriginal or Moari. Eddie is neither. And his club is a haven for racist bogons.

To make people like you in Marrickville, you have to be used to waving at planes flying 50 metres over you head. Oh, and a knowledge of basic Vietnamese breadshop ettiquette wouldn't go astray.

Maybe the Pies have got their suburbs mixed up. Homebush is not the "inner west" at all. More ugg boots at Westpoint Blacktown anyway, don't you think!?
