    Height problems?

I have been chewing my nails over the Eagles big men so I compared the 25 possible players on either team for tomorrow. (See the attached chart.) In general we match up pretty well but at the top end we struggle! I assume that the Eagles won't go in with all their talls because it makes it a lot harder to run all day, but even so!

But what we don't have in height, we make up for with commitment. Leaping Leo and B2 always seem to play taller than they are ...

    Lets hope that continues ...

I wouldn't worry about it, last time we met it worked against them (particularly in their forward line). Also we have a few players that consistently win on bigger opponents (Leo, B2, ROK). Big Cox dropping back in defence is the only worry I have.

Well, if height alone was the only criteria in determining the team that's going to win.... Monty, Crouch and Schneider would never get a game!

Doesn't worry me. Put pressure on their midfield to limit their effectiveness, and trust Leo Barry/Craig Bolton/Tiger to run the ball out with superior speed. If the ball is delivered perfectly to a leading forward, he could be 2 feet shorter than his opponent and still mark it on his chest!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I ran a different analysis and found we have a significant advantage in this area....

He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Do you have something that reads out the titles of threads - it says HEIGHT advantage not HEART!

                  I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I'm pleased to say that Richards and Chambers will address this issue (assuming they are with us and make the team). Not good news for our under-sized "talls" (ROK?).

I don't think Pebbles will have any problems despite probably being shorter (albeit he is still over 6 foot!). What he doesn't have in that extra height he gains in overhead marking ability... best in our side when the ball is over his head, probably one of the best in the league...

If he gets benched, i'd be verrry surprised.
