I was at the parade. I turned up about half past eleven armed with scarf and flag.
I was at the corner - the intersection of Swanston and Collins where the parade makes a turn. There seemed to be a large number of Toasters in the vicinity, as if the Feral bus dropped them off there. I didn't have a good view, but I could see well enough.
I loved it when Bazza went past, I even managed to start a "Bazza" chant. (Bazza, Bazza, Bazza.) Then the rest of the players went past. I couldn't identify them all, because I could not read the names from where I was standing.
Someone standing behind me took a photo of my flag when I was holding it up and a gentle breeze was waving it nicely. I hope he got good shots.
Tomorrow will be good. "Sydney Swans supporters, please report to the Grand Final in full supporter gear. This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill.""Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I was up near the Old Treasury Building surrounded by Eagles but Craig Willis said there was more red and white overall. The Weagles fans seemed more arrogant and confident but some of their players looked more tense. Agree with Reggi that Willo looked tense but Roos was smiling and giving the thumbs up and appeared relaxed. Cousins seemed less at ease in his speech than Hall who attracted a lot of booing.LIFE GOES ONComment

Grand Final Parade
What a fantastic day! Spent the whole day in Melbourne. What a great city! Red and White everywhere! And way too much Blue and Yellow. But that provided some good banter amongst supporters. Thanks Julian for the HUGE flag. We could always know where to go by looking for the biggest red and white flag in the world.
Federation Square was great. The kids had a fun time running around looking at everything. Had a few ales at Transport. Quite a nice bar.
I am soooo ready for tomorrow. Bring it on!!!!!
Go Swannies!!!!!!!Seeing things in red and white is better than seeing things as black and white.Comment

I touched the cup! I touched the cup!
What a huge day, haven't had a chance to post after the drive down on Thurs. (bad omen no. 1 first car we saw was an Eagles supporter, couldn't believe it). Parade was great. Kirky's little bub very cute fast asleep oblivious to the hoo haa. Took the kids and spent several hours in AFL Sensation. I understand this has a little bit of a chequered history but the kids loved it.
Then the staff start running around saying they have the cup in the front foyer for an hour. So we race round and we now have several photos of us and kids with our hands on the 2005 trophy. FANTASTIC.
Finally on the tram down to South Melbourne to soak up some history on Clarendon St. and the Lake Oval (notice d the council had quickly covered up Baysey's handiwork), dinner at a local pub, some yarns with some South diehards and back home.
Here's hoping today can match that.Comment
