I don't want to even think about what ifs when it comes to that kick...all I know it added drama to the already dramatic day we finally won the premiership after 72 years.

(and an Ablett finally won a premiership btw )

Couldn't agree more. He has the potential to become a truly attacking midfield force, something we're still short on. We have enough Mathews, Kirks, Crouchs etc to shut down the opposition.

Shocking kick, but Paul Roos had a joke about it.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

is there a difference between a Ablett's shocker compared to, say, a forward who misses from 30 metres out right in front. A missed "gimme" shot at goal by a forward is in the same skill error category as a dodgy kick by a backman IMHO.

                Yes,

He would of been part of the next years team.

He is one fantastic player and in hindsight,if that kick cost the Swans,Ablett would of unfortunately got the blame for our loss.

The kick was stupid and even though we won,Ablett would still be hurting but i am glad Roos is our coach and not a supporter or member of the general public.
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

Yep, lot of truth in that comment, yet for whatever reason, it tends to get noticed more. Possibly because a goal to the opposition costs you a real lead, but a missed goal is an opportunity missed.

Having said that, if a player missed a vital goal from 20m out directly in front in the last quarter he would be just as villified.

I mentioned it to NOG about the premiership medal and he was like one of my uncle's won a couple (see above with Geoff and Hawks)

I should have followed it up with how does it feel that you have one and your cousins don't.

Noggy is almost at the stage where we might say he is a required player - OK, slight exaggeration, but apart from yesterday's massive clanger, he's had a good year and promises a lot more.
Thank goodness we have a coach who tells players (e.g. B2) "You'll make mistakes and we'll back you."
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Thankfully his efforts were probably exceeded by Brent Staker. Given that he was a NSW boy...was he a secret 23rd man for us or soemthing - did we manage to plant him in the opposition side.

                          His was a terrifying performance

                            Didn't cost a goal.

Poor Nog's last 10 mins on the bench musta been torture. Simply outstanding team effort to come back after that - in the past we woulda hung our heads at that moment.

Luke had a shocker. He'd just had his best moment of the game - great contested mark against Judd when he followed it up with that kick.

It was great to see Tadhg and Goodesy go straight to him, give him a pat on the back. We have lots of leaders at our club.

He should not have been out there. He was injuried. Versus the Saint, when Dal Santo marked in the goalsquare, Ablett jumped a little and showed a lot of discomfort upon landing.

He seems to lost a bit of pace in recent weeks. His ability to turn was also not as good as it used to. I am thinking, he might have carried the same injury that Goodes had last year. They bothh have pretty much the same symptom from my observation.

Still, his premiership medal is fully deserved.
