    Eagles CEO has a sook

    Winners are Grinners!

WEST Coast believes the tribunal system will need to be changed again after the decision to downgrade Sydney captain Barry Hall's penalty that allowed him to play yesterday.

"In (the home-and-away) season, it (the offence) is two weeks," Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett said.

Does that mean he wanted Travis Gaspar to be suspended too?

      To be fair to him
Nisbett said the Swans, playing hard-lined football and being at their best when it counted, deserved their flag.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Gotta say Eagles supporters around Melb handled themselves pretty well last night, were respectful, gracious 'losers'.

Possibly they are taking it for granted they will be back (which you should never)

This comment is just some dis-appointment - I thought Cousins handled himself well - remebering Hird in 2001
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

No way! He said that as an afterthought because he slipped up. He would rather have played the reserves.

I now have the highest regard for West Coast supporters. They were the best sports and most gracious losers I have ever encountered. Stark contrast to the feral St Kilda ratbags.

I was drinking with a few Sains fans in the MCC members before the game started who were more than gracious. They were in standing behind where we were seated during the final quarter and came down at the siren to hug and kiss both my wife and myself in congratulations. Amazing!

All this illustrates that there are good and bad supporters at every club, Swans included.

eagles fans have been good, i can understand theres natural anger and sadness when u lose, i mean in 96 i blamed everyone :P

they have been good the ones ive talked to and on their website they are good.

Theres the odd one though, but the main pains are the saints fans? what is their problem

think they are the best team ever
Theres not much left to say

                    agree there.
we happened to be sitting in front of one of the WORST fans ever. West Coast guy who should have been ejected from the ground the way he was carrying on - cursing when there were kids around, getting extremely violent to the point that i thought it would come to blows. Even the weagles supporters sitting around him were embarassed to be associated.
tis a shame, but boy did we have the last laugh waving him goodbye after the fina siren and wishing him well on his trip home!!

(also, as a side issue - the night before the game - 90% ofweagles suuporters we came across, instead of just happily crying go weagles etc, decided that they yell at us and call us losers and that swans suck etc. ... pure arrogance and unsportsmanlike

typical subi oval crowd - this is why i hate them with a passion and am so bloody happy that we nailed em in the GF

makes it even more rewarding after the QF - i have never been abused so much in my life, i cant wait to wear my red and white next time we play em at subi

You're right on the Subi crowd. I just remember having those Eagles fans banging on the windows when we walked past a pub in Subiaco after we lost to them in Round 6.

I don't know what planet you were on because the general behaviour of West Coast fans (at least before the match) was absolutely disgraceful. Making ridiculous claims of winning by over 10 goals on national television. Saying we shouldn't even be be coming because the Eagles were too good etc etc. Abusing us at both the parade and at Fed Square for no reason at all. MSABenny even nearly copped a slap in the face from one of them because he said they looked arrogant up on stage at the parade.

The thing is, not everyone reads the insular hicksville WA media. (Did anyone see Adrian Barich's 'report' on Sky Sports, just a disgrace!) Quite a few Sandgropers need a serious look at themselves as far as I am concerned.

My hatred for West Coast supporters has grown tenfold after this weekend. And other I was with have seen what they are like in person.

There are always going to be a small number of supporters who give the rest a bad name. Walking across the bridge from Flinders St to the pre-game meet-up I passed two Eagles supporters where one just gave the other a nudge and then put on a fake burst of laughter. I just looked at em and said "Good Luck".

That's one thing that makes me proud to be a Swans supporter - we know what it's like to suffer year after year, but unlike St Kilda supporters, we also don't forget that in a short time. We show the opposition respect and don't get ahead of ourselves. We celebrate our team's achievements, not write off what other teams have or haven't done. And we know how to be gracious in defeat, and even more gracious in victory.

                            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Supporters are what they are, what I found irksome was the fct that the Eagles had turned their back and were walking off just as Barry began his speech by congratulating them on their efforts.

Similarly I thought Cousins and Judd's speaches were also less than gracious.
