Nah - his first kick of the game was that stuttering finish that he gets sometimes.

My guess is he was carrying a groin injury, and/or had an injection in the groin prior to the match. His kicking style was one of someone trying to protect some sort of problem.

Would have been awful for him and Noggy if we had lost. But we didn't!!

The moment clearly got the better of him. Someone needed to go to him to say just go through your routine!

Terrible, terrible time to get the yips. 4 marks inside 50 in the final quarter (did the whole WCE team get 4 marks inside 50 in the whole match?), all of them on strong leads, indicates that his legs were holding out okay.

All 4 were taken at a point where a FF should go back and kick the goal, but his (and the team's) net return was 0.1. There was some reference in the paper today to concussion in the 1st quarter, which can make a man do funny things (while still believing that he's okay), which would explain it a bit.

I would have actually felt sorrier for Micky O than NOG if we'd lost, b/c:
? NOG only made one crucial error, and
? NOG hasn't tasted GF defeat before and is more likely to have another crack in his career.

But the point is that it doesn't matter! All is forgiven! While MO'L was up in our 50, taking marks, going back and fluffing it, the clock was winding down and the Weagles weren't kicking goals. The strong leading and strong marking under pressure, plus an excellent performance over the whole of 2005, means that Magic still has at least a year or two to offer us. Although there is going to be lots of goal-kicking practice for him across the off-season!

                      Ok. He can be excused.

Nathan Gibbs is quoted in today's HS saying that O'Loughlin was suffering from concussion after a bump from Hunter.

Makes those marks all the better.

Agreeed NW. He was making superb leads and marking everything under the sun in the last qtr. If he managed to kick accurately, we would've had that game by about 15-20.

i don't believe he got the yips, the only survivor of the 96' team he shouldve been the most experience.

He almost made me sick with his misses, and then he just would'nt have a shot.

He played such a superb game with great marks and strong leading, such a shame he couldnt put away the kicks.

as my dad was saying Mick You ******** Have A Kick! (when he kept trying to pass it off)

                            but we still love im'

i think with mick's ongoing knee problems that now he has problems with anything more than 40metres out. hence why they play him out of the goal square at the scg.
and even though he missed a few. the important thing was he kept presenting himself and creating opportunities. he took some good grabs and was bringing the ball into our attacking zone.he might not of kicked a 'bag' but i think he did his job.

Needs to work on his torp for shots outside 35ish metres.
