I know there are posts all over the boards at the moment celebrating the Swans flag, but I thought it would be fantastic for all of us on RWO to put a congratulatory message on here and pass it on to the club in the coming days.

To all the players, coaches and staff at the Sydney Football Club, congratulations on achieving the ultimate reward for your hard work and dedication - not just this year, but over the past several years.
You have proved that a champion team can and will outlast a team of champions through your belief in one another and never-say-die attitude.
You have given thousands of supporters the ultimate joy that comes from following a football team and while it would have been great to not have had to wait quite as long as we did, in the end, the wait was well and truly worth it.
I look forward to seeing our flag unfurled at the first home game of 2006.
Congratulations once again,
Mike
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

My beloved Swans,
When that siren went I was numb. Not shock - for I believed you could do this - just numb that we'd finally got there. Now, a day later, I quiver with the emotion that I feel from this win. I choke back tears as I read each page in the newspaper, as I see each photo, as I see each image on the TV.
The commitment, belief, energy of the team has given you this success. Congratulations. You deserve every good moment this brings, and more.
I am so impressed with your teamwork. With your confidence, trust and belief in each other. Skills are good, but skills don't achieve what you have.
How much do I love you, how good is this team?
- As much as all the grains of all the sand on all the beaches of all the world
- As much as all the drops of water in all the oceans of the world
- As much as all the stars in all the universe
Thank you for the joy. Thank you for the journey.

P.S. I just wanted a win, even though all the non-involved parties are saying it was the most exciting grand final, I didn't need that! But it's OK, I survived without a need for CPR (just).Dream, believe, achieve!Comment

The Bloods proved some football truisms on that great day the 72-year drought was ended with the great MCG rain dance known as the AFL Grand Final.
* A champion team will beat a team of champions.
* Forwards sell memberships, defense wins premierships. Leo Barry's mark is the best proof of this I have ever seen.
Go Bloods, to the victors go the spoils. Good luck for the quest for back-to-back in 2006!"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The Long Wait is over.
Congratulations to Roos and the players and staff of the club for a fabulous achievement to deliver the ultimate team premiership.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

To Roosy, the players and everyone involved at the Swans,
Thank you for an amazing season that culminated in yesterday's incredible game. It is an inspiration to watch the players perform so consistently and wonderfully over the course of the season. I'll have to admit there were a few times during the finals where my belief wavered but thankfully you guys never did. To come through so many close finishes is a real testament to the spirit of the club. Thank you again for bringing so many happy moments during season.Comment

Go Swans.Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.Comment

To Paul Roos and the Swans,
Thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity that was not given to so many Swans fan of previous generations. The opportunity to see my team win a premiership. It is a fantastic feeling to know that the team you support is the best team in the county, the best team in the world.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches and support staff for a brilliant season. You deserve to celebrate it in style. Thank you for giving me the chance to watch it and rejoice in your victory. May this opportunity be given many times in the future to make up for the lack of it in the past.

Well done, Swans.
It was beautiful. There was drama and anxiety and fear and hope and then it happened and there was yelling and screaming and jumping and hugging and a few tears and an incredible amount of pride. Not much else to say really. You've fought and struggled and bled and sweated for years and now you've done it and we're all insanely proud of you.
Thankyou.Comment

The story would make a wonderful come-from-behind win by an underdog - a kind of Australian version of Seabiscuit.
Fantastic achievement, wonderfully well done.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Thank you Sydney.
Thank you for giving me something I never thought I would see. I never dared to dream, I didn't want to be let down. I should have known better. I should have realised that this team has what it takes.
To everyone involved, thank you.
The world today is a much better place. You bet it is.
We are the 2005 Premiers. The World Champions.Comment

To Richard Colless and the board : Thanks for appointing 'Roosy' at a time when you may have thought there were better coaches around - YOU now have a premiership coach !!!
To Paul Roos and the coaching staff : Thanks for shaping this team into a Championship team where even the champions speak of 'their 22 brothers".
To the Team, the Bloods, our boys : Thanks for a great year, a great finals series and your efforts in ALL matches. I sincerely hope the blood spilled has been worth it (and it doesn't hurt too much now).
Congratulations to all on achieving the pinnacle of success in the 2005 AFL season. YOU are the PREMIERS !!!
