Well as things stand if we can win 5 out of our next 6 we should make the finals at least and hopefully we can then push towards a top 4 spot

clumsy mistakes almost cost us but we beat the Lions. From grand finalists to dual premiers, we have conquered both.

            WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Great stuff by Sydney today, very pleased to see the Swans continue there hard running style of play that was so successful last week.
Hopefully this form can continue after a indifferent start to the year

Congratulations to the team. All individuals played well. Can't wait to read this weks meanderings from the lynch mob .

But congratulations Sydney, a well fought 4 quarters of football that I am more than happy with. Keep it up.

                Great Win!!!

thought they were going to throw the game away through mistakes from Barry and Crouch, but luckily we held on.

                    Hooray for the Silly Socks

Actually the part I'm most impressed with WAS the dodgy 3rd quarter. The Lions kicked 3 quick ones and we DIDN'T fall to pieces, but really tightened down. I think they only got one more goal in the final 15 minutes of that quarter, and they were right on top too.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Agree totally Des, in previous seasons, when the Lions kicked those 3 goals in 5 minutes, we would have gone to pieces. But this time, we held fast, only conceding one more for the quarter. Even though we didn't kick another ourselves, that said a lot to me about our character.

Just watching The Winners, Roosy made mention of the 3rd quarter effort as one of the most pleasing aspects of the win - even he said we would have often ended up conceding 7, 8 9 goals not the 4 in the 3rd quarter in previous seasons.

Great to see the players have the self belief.

Fantastic crowd atmosphere. The 55m goal from Crouch was unbelievable. Well done to Micky O - great to have him back in form. Goodsy is looking like brownlow material.

Leaping Leo gave us all a few heart attacks as did Ball's kick across goal rather than long - what were they thinking?????

We are going to miss Cresswell next year (sob!)

                        We beat the Lions....WHOOOHOOO!

The atmosphere was brilliant. It felt like a much bigger crowd than 23,000, and it was sure as hell noisier than a 23,000 crowd would suggest. Looking forward to the SCG rocking like it did back in the late 90's!
