    Nic Fosdike

I admit that I have been one of his biggest critics and have been strong on the "trade him" talk.

but he was very good on saturday and i feel he got under the guard of the eagles. since his return from injury he has added to our midfield depth and has been a very solid contributor. he was our highest possession winner with 26 and laid the most tackles (7) along with kirky

along with LRT and buchy, he was a big chance for the norm smith
but i suppose he'll be more than happy with a premiership medallion. i bet he's glad now that a trade couldnt be worked out with an adelaide club last season

well done nic - enjoy the moment

Agree wholeheartedly. I've been very critical of him over the years as well and have been more than happy to eat my words. Has provided us with that extra outside midfield option since coming back from injury and his form has been very solid.

Has the fitness and the running ability, plus can kick both sides of the body. The one thing I'd love to see from him now is to kick goals on a more regular basis!

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Fossie really stood up when it counted. Really consistent game, won lots of the ball and more importantly used it well.

Hopefully a bit of confidence and more game time will see him really start to shine.

I'm eating humble pie over my previous comments on him, but boy it tastes good...

As I said elsewhere, I thought he was our best player. Was great at clearances and really able to find space and hit targets.

His biggest problem has been he throws in some horrible clangers most games with some shocking brain explosions, but he didn't do that on Saturday. He was consistent all day and hardly made an error.

I think he enjoyed the bigger ground. I had thought a couple of weeks ago the MCG might suit him.

Hopefully, he continues that form now.

Fossie loves the bigger grounds such as the Gabba, Subi, MCG

Remember he was a S.A. 400 metre athletics champion

To me he just "glides" over the ground - makes running look easy

Roos has his faith in Fossie & LRT - both have great athletic ability

Unfortunatley the writing was on the wall for Schauble -too slow

What does the future hold for Saddington ?

Both LRT and Nic Fosdike (possibly others, but who's counting?) picked an almighty day to play their best-ever game for the club.

I suspect that a lot of the past criticism about Fosdike had stemmed from a perception that he played for himself as much as the team, but he well and truly earned the right to call himself a Blood on Saturday.

Right now, it really doesn't matter what the past held or what the future holds for him. He picked up 26 possessions in just 3 quarters of footy (I read that he spent 30 minutes on the pine throughout the game), and it was all positive, damaging stuff, not fancy chipping around or handballing backwards. Plus not one clanger among them.

In a game that was so obviously won by the team and an unbelievable team spirit, it's probably unfair to single out individuals, but he was right up among our best.

I've always been a supporter of Fozzie's and was very pleased to see him play so well.

Hopefully people on here can now get off his back.

The expectations placed on him by people were always unfair because of the position he was taken in the gun 1998 draft.

Darren Goldspink said on SEN this morning that he would of given the 3 Brownlow Votes to him had it been a home and away game.

Fine game by The Foz - played at his draft level. And we can expect more.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Great game from Fosdike. In our best 2 or 3 the other day I reckon.

this is one player that has always frustrated me. he is fit , has pace, no trouble getting to the ball , but his disposal always seem to let him down.. his form recently had been good and on saturday he was outstanding. a premiership player and a near best on ground performance . well done nick. i sincerely hope that this is the turning point in his career and hope he can become a very good player for us

The problem I used to have with Fosdike in previous seasons is that he seemd to rush his kicks too often. Certainly when there is someone closing quick on him. He looked a bit panic in such occassions.

He seems to have iron out that part of his game this season. He looks much more at ease even when there is someong closing fast.

Probably the decision to trade him last year has been a blessing for him and us. He has matured much since then. Seems to be much calmer with his inner self. A sign that his mental strength has progressed.

FWIW, Fosdike tends to contribute a lot more over an open space. So I dont mind if he decides to go somewhere else this trading period. Dont think he would achieve more than whatever he already got with us. The club and he should part on a good term, I think.

biggest change ive noticed is his confidence. He seems prepared to back his ability and take risks now that he wouldnt in the past.

Nic Fosdike is a legend. He had such a great game. To see him and LRT improve like the drop of a hat was fascinating to watch.
