    Move to telstra stadium

When should we be playing more games out at tesltra stadium than at the SCG?

i reckon five years is the on the sooner side of a realistic target but probably by 2015. i guess a big issue is the possibility of a second team in sydney. not sure what effect that would have.

      I would say never.

Look at the joke of a situation when we played Geelong. The NRL gets preference there and until that changes we will always be a close second.

Telstra is fantastic for the big games and was absolutely brilliant during the day against the Lions however the SCG is our spiritual home.

I totally agree now after what happened with our final against Geelong.

I have moved seats twice in 5 years at Telstra. I am going to try and move again this year because I cannot see the whole ground! I cannot see the entire wing. It is ridiculous to have any seats sold that have that problem. Most people that complain about Telstra do so for that reason and until the Swans fix it, it will be a negative. BTW when I rang to complain the peson I spoke to seemed genuinely surprised that I would want to see the whole ground!

Problem is that some of the seats in the Members Reserve area don't even face the centre!

I feel your pain. You must be sitting in the Cheer Squad then, hey?

I brought this issue up awhile ago, swans need to move to Telstra Stadium because im afraid the SCG isnt up to AFL Standard, the venue itself just isnt looking too good. TS is brillant, holds a big capacity & the ground is very simliar to the MCG.

                      telstra vs mcg

i went to the mcg for the first time on saturday and in my humble opinion telstra is nothing like the mcg.

the mcg is a seething cauldron - to be there at a sellout is to be at one of the most intense and massive things that there is to see. telstra has nothing of the atmosphere even at a sellout.

the mcg also is within walking distance to the city .. this is a very important feature ... especially for saturday night games

and finally the mcg ... like the scg has a history

i dont doubt that the forces of money will override and the swans will be moved to telstra ... but for me it will always be a sad and regrettable thing

Good to see the NRL and Telstra got stung twice on that one:

                        - Once for the geelong final, when they only got 26K for the wests game
                        - And again for the Wests v St George game which the NRL couldnt move.

                          Never

It's too hard to get to.

Too expensive to get to (unless they do the free transport with the ticket thingy).

It has no atmosphere. Imagine what it would be like when the Swans only get 25,000 people there - might as well play at Rookwood.

Agree. I don't think they'll make a complete move in the near future (although if we win another couple of premierships they may consider it!). For blockbuster games it is a decent venue, if not perfect. But there's no point having every game there as unless the place is filled to at least half capacity there is zero atmosphere.

id like too see us at the TS, seems alot easier/better equipped and less hassle too (1 bus to get on)
