No specific mention of Everitt in the AFL segment other than the fact that Roos said they're interested in ruckmen given Doyle's injuries - though Roosy when asked about his response to Demetriou's remarks, joked that his scriptwriters were working on it, hinted there would be some comments made at the B&F night. I trust our RWO scribes will be there to jot down any good quotes?

Not sure what Hawthorn are looking for but with our first pick at #19, it would be hard to swing a deal.

Tuesday's Herald mentioned we may be interested in Beau McDonald, a link apparently strengthened by Andrew Ireland's previous association with him. Roos also basically ruled out Luke Power unless Power specifically stated he wanted to move here.

Getting Everitt would be the clear sign that our objective for next year would be looking to win it back-to-back. I dont have the impression that this is the priority in Roos's mind. With the retirement of Schauble, our defence is short and has no depth. This means our 2006 flag chance would be gone with any injury to CBolton, Leo or LRT. This is too high a risk for us to take I think.

IMHO, we dont have the personels and depth to go back-to-back-(and to back), especially with our style of play. Would love to be wrong here however.

May be setting a more moderate target for next week with a bit of list rebuilding so that we are set for the longer term would be more beneficial for the club in the longer run.

All-or-nothing does not seem to be Roos's style of management neither.

Was interesting to see that Sheahan and Walls were of the belief that our main training session of the week was actually the game, while the rest of the week was spent in recovery and a short sharp session for about 40 mins before being let loose on game day again, and with the amount of physical effort exerted in games, that was enough to keep the players in condition.

Agreed. This is why I was so desperate for us to take advantage of the enormous opportunity we had this year.

With the talent at their disposal in young sides WC and StKilda really should increase a lot next year, probably more than we can.

on going back-to-back, my concern is that this premiership was built in sheer will power and determination. The players may find it very difficult to feel that same level of it next year.

I tend to agree that it was 'our time', but I still think there's a bit of improvement in our group. Players such as LRT, Vogels, Buchanan, Schneider are only going to get better. Then you would hope Moore, McVeigh, Malceski etc. would naturally improve.
