    Tackle of the Day

Ok, not as sexy as Goal or Mark of the Day but it does epitomise the Bloods spirit.

I thought there were some remarkable tackles on Saturday. My vote - Buchanan's tackle of Nicoski on the HFF in the last qr. Nicoski was almost clear but Bucky held on with one arm and dragged him down forcing Nicoski to handball to the boundary. what could've been a clear getaway was forced into another contested ball.

Any others? [Note any tackles sighted at after-match celebrations DO NOT count!]

LittleSchneider would be happy about this but i think Schneider's tackle on Judd when he was trying to break the pack in their forward 50 in the last was the tackle of the day.

Schneider's tackle on Judd was great, even if he probably started the tackle a split second before Judd had the ball. But I really loved Mathews crunching Staker to the ground after Staker had fumbled with an open goal at his mercy. THAT really got me going.

In terms of importance, Kennelly on Chick. Saved a goal.

After that effort where Chick ended up kicking OOBOTF, I said "that is the type of stuff that wins Grand Finals".

                  Or this one.

Or LRT knocking over a bunch of Eagles, allowing Leo to take that mark (ok, not strictly a tackle, but...)

That was outstanding. IIRC Mathews did something similar in the final minutes of the 2003 QF against Port.
